  1. Absolutely agree with AndyR diagnosis. Check and replace the vehicle battery and this should cure it
  2. Hi Sarah.....welcome to the Forum Its an odd one! Generally code 84 means reduced power delivery (going into limp home mode) but can be caused by many different things. If it is happening when indicating right, I would firstly check all the lighting and ensure that the correct bulbs are fitted. It has happened on cars I have previously encountered with defective brake light bulbs and the engine went into limp home mode. If nothing is wrong with the lighting circuit then I would strip off the plastics surrounding the indicator switch and check that no wiring has chaffed through and is affecting the ignition switch, etc Please do let us know what you find
  3. Code 68 relates to power steering power supply due to weak vehicle battery supply. If your battery went flat then I would look at replacing it if it is old or proving defective
  4. Try Jakxta on here as he has heavily modded his Insignia and I'm sure he can help with suppliers and part numbers
  5. catchacold2....welcome to the Forum They certainly have got the styling right on the latest Corsa....enjoy it and let us know how you're getting on with it. AndyR The Cavalier SRi...now that was a cracking car in its day Cheers, Trevor
  6. kerrandsmith. we haven't removed any of you posts....try posting a test one again and I'll keep an eye out for it
  7. Cheers and fingers crossed!
  8. HI Andy, let us know how it goes with the key fob. Good luck with the service, hope they don't reveal any major issues
  9. Hi Howard....welcome to the Forum If you've got any questions once you collect your Meriva feel free to ask and hopefully someone can assist
  10. Hi Jonny...welcome to the Forum Good to have you onboard
  11. Hi Andy......hope you are well? Pretty awful weather so far but not hit too bad in Dorset, a few trees down and high water levels but nothing disastrous really....hows it there? It sounds like the key is a blank key (as in it doesn't have the immobiliser chip or if it does then it is not reading it correctly) Here is a link to a supplier of keys and can programme one up for you http://www.car-keys-online.com/category/505/astra.html
  12. Hi Bill.....welcome to the Forum If it is coming from a rotating wheel then it has to be either pads or discs rubbing. Alternatively, a driveshaft/wheel bearing issue but if it was me I would simulate the problem by clamping off the brake hoses (individually) and running the car with the pads separated slightly away from the disc and listen for noise when applying the brake (when moving very slowly)
  13. I think a local Wheel Refurbishment company would be best to consult on the colour as they probably encounter it loads
  14. Hi....welcome to the Forum It sounds very much like the variable vanes in the turbo are gummed up. Sometimes you can clear it through by giving it a good blast for a prolonged period sometimes it is a case of using a specialist cleaning solution (see eBay link below) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Diesel-Engine-Turbo-Cleaner-Cures-Limp-Home-Mode-Variable-Vane-Turbos/152003334878?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D225076%26meid%3Dfe68b31517174295ab12902e5a90e01d%26pid%3D100970%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D4%26mehot%3Dpp%26sd%3D223502668484%26itm%3D152003334878%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100970.m5481&_trkparms=pageci%3Aeea890bf-4cb4-11ea-b1f2-74dbd180573b|parentrq%3A33aec6331700aada594ff958ffe2eab0|iid%3A1 Let us know how it all goes
  15. Let us know how it all goes...fingers crossed!
  16. Hi Dave.....welcome to the Forum It sounds plausible that there are modifications to compensate for previous reliability issues. I would be tempted to run with the installation and see how it all goes now you're at this advanced stage. It may also be worth speaking to your local Vauxhall parts department to see whether it all tallies up as legitimate modified parts from a recall (maybe worth taking photos of the parts in question) Let us know how you get on with it all
  17. Hi Jodhi....welcome to the Forum Does the engine turn over when you turn the key or just not fire up the engine? Crank sensor comes to mind if the engine does not fire up.
  18. Sounds like it could be a heater temperature control solenoid sticking which is not altering the temperature rate and this is the clicking noise. You may have to stick your head under the dash to see if it is something you can easily access....easy to spot if its clicking constantly.
  19. Allan c . glad to hear you got it sorted
  20. Hi....welcome to the Forum It looks lovely and sunny in Spain, completely different to what we're experiencing here now Good to have you onboard Cheers, Trevor
  21. Hi....welcome to the Forum That's an odd one and may need to be scanned to see if there are any fault codes in the system. Quite possibly it could be an issue with the Clutch Switch which is causing the fault. Let us know if you find out the cause
  22. No, the cleaner you need for the turbo is for the variable vanes on the turbine (hot side) and this is very caustic but does the job. Either of these two will do: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/INNOTEC-VARIABLE-VANE-TURBO-CLEANER-KIT/283742412523?epid=735246736&hash=item42105d9eeb:g:HYsAAOSwglJeHJJx https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Diesel-Engine-Turbo-Cleaner-Cures-Limp-Home-Mode-Variable-Vane-Turbos/152003334878?epid=1943810068&hash=item23641ad2de:g:lQ4AAOSwZ8ZW2O4l
  23. Hi Jules....welcome to the Forum If the seatbelt is in the rear then the boot is leaking, which is a common fault, but if its in the front then I don't know what that is? Has the car come from somewhere like Helston in Cornwall which floods regularly within the year....check the log book for previous owners Silicon spray is good for squeaky pedals usually
  24. siggyv6cdti You're the Insignia expert....any ideas?
  25. There are cleaning solutions to clear out the carbon but the most efficient way is to drive it hard to get the engine hot and start to clear out the carbon which will take time but you can gradually build up the revs as the system will allow without going into limp home mode.
