When does the smoke appear and for how long....e.g. when starting up or under acceleration or deceleration ?

Hi Krissy.....welcome to the Forum It may possibly be coming through the rear light unit as there is a gasket between the light assembly and the body which hardens up over time and becomes less effective at holding out the water (especially if it is channeled from the tailgate down to the bumper). Worth removing the light units and applying some silicon if you find thats where its coming through. The easiest way to find where the water is getting in is to use a smoke generator in the car and see where it comes out of. A good independent garage should have one to use on the car and only takes a few minutes to carry out the task. Also, as routerspouter has mentioned, it could be something as simple as a rubber bung that it missing. Let us know how you get on with it

I think if it was me i would take legal advice from the CAB or a solicitor to find out your consumer rights regarding the ownership of a car that is not fit for purpose. Seems unreasonable to have bought a car you cannot drive and that has been substantially modified with new components with no result at the end of it. Let us know how it all goes

Hi...welcome to the Forum I would personally try to recode the injectors first but if unsuccessful then it would be a replacement ECU, etc. Keep us updated on any progress

Hi....welcome to the Forum Sounds like it could be the phone settings rather than the vehicle settings. Worth having a play with it when it is connected on a call to see what makes the difference.

definitely eBay and you may find some in Europe as was originally sold as an Opel so probably more chance of getting spares from there

Straight forward enough job if you have a ramp to work on then.....good luck with it. Would be good to see a report on how to do it if you get a chance

I have always been a big fan of the Frontera and find it a shame that there aren't more driving around nowadays I would probably search through eBay for most of the parts and a lot of Motor Factors would still stock or be able to obtain service parts What parts are you specifically looking for?

I managed to get some new OE hoses for the wife's Alfa Romeo GT diesel from eBay and as they were new they were more rigid unlike the old ones which had turned to jelly in comparison...lots more boost on low down revs.

Hi....welcome to the Forum Unfortunately there are a few descriptions of this fault code and it depends on how it relates to the symptoms the vehicle is displaying. Are there any running faults with the car/engine or is something not working?

Hi Terry....welcome to the Forum I would be tempted to drill a small hole in the rear where the water is collecting and insert a grommet once you have put some corrosion protection on the bare metal....better to let the water drain out than sitting there. Also, worth sealing the light unit gasket to stop any further water ingress. If it was me I would also fill the affected area with waxoyl or similar anti-corrosion wax treatment. not sure exactly where they would be located but would assume there would be one near the top and another somewhere near the bottom or at least both at the top at the same level and a plate securing it at the bottom (look underneath the radiator to see if there is a bracket there) Let us know what you find

Only thing I can think of is matching clutch driven plate to the input shaft splines to suit the new gearbox.

I can imagine the old one is a good quality battery but tired and the new one may be defective
