  1. What gear are you in and what road speed are you doing when trying to get to boost? Possibly too high gear and worth trying it by knocking it down a gear?
  2. It may be the clutch components (cover/pressure plate) that is heavy. Additionally, there may be corrosion build up on the splines which may it a bit heavier on the clutch depression but that would normally result in clutch dragging (slight delay when pulling away)
  3. How strange, have seen secondhand parts marked up like this but what it is in connection to? (accident damage?)
  4. I believe the LED bulbs are at the end of their life it they are glowing dimly Also, check connections for any high resistance, e.g. corrosion on terminals, etc
  5. Crankshaft sensor quite possibly?
  6. Hi FRONTERATECH ...welcome to the Club Good to have you onboard
  7. Maybe worth checking the replaced sensor connection is tight, correct, etc as not sure if the circuit is a series connection (meaning if one sensor is out the lot go out - like a christmas tree)
  8. On the indicator stalk there is a bit you can twist/roll, this changes the display to the various different displays Go into settings and select unit settings. Depending on the model of your car it's accessed by either pressing the set button or selecting settings on the screen
  9. Maybe worth contacting the dealer to see if you should have any correspondence relating to the breakdown cover
  10. Maybe better to go for a reconditioned unit with a good warranty The fluid in the existing box will tell a story of whether the clutch plates are worn out - smells of burnt toast and the filter should have trapped lots of debris. Which means the death knell for that gearbox.
  11. Vauxhall gearboxes are renowned for being weak but still carry on until they finally go - which can be years, running with noisy gears, poor selection, etc
  12. Check the large fuse / fuseable link for damage (e.g. cracks or burn marks) Also, check the battery condition as this can drop to a low voltage when starting and this can flag fault codes
  13. Grey/Blue smoke could be oil being burnt....valve seals possibly. Does the smoke smell of oil? Does it occur when hot or cold?
  14. Have you looked at the ones in Halfords? I'm sure they have different size connectors in the range
  15. Not entirely sure, but try holding the power button or maybe even the brightness level should switch to low illumination
  16. Let us know how you get on with it
  17. Superb figure to achieve.....well done Andy
  18. I've usually kept the vehicle weight on the ground and used an impact wrench on the nut and its worked. As it is rubber mounted at the top of the damper then this can absorb some of the impact from the wrench and cancel out the torque being applied. Also may be worth using a long breaker bar if you can get it in the space Can always spin it on a couple of turns to jack it up again Maybe take it to a garage with a bigger impact wrench to see if it shifts
  19. No, it would have to be a complete axle set at the same time for the handling not to be compromised Powerflex are the best ones to purchase from experience but may cost more
  20. I would put money on it being the turbocharger variable vanes sticking due to excessive carbon deposits Try using a cleaner to remove the carbon - links below: Wynns JLM Revive
  21. Could also be an adjustment required on the gearshift mechanism which has to be in Park to allow the key to turn back far enough to be removed Try wiggling the gearshift to see if it makes it easier to remove the key
  22. Sorry, misread your post....thought it said 'front locks' Its possible but not sure....again if a scrapyard has the parts you can take measurements or offer it up....sometimes the manufacture won't change much metalwork to facelift a new version just superficial plastics...so certainly worth a punt and time in research
  23. Yep I would imagine it has done, so cylinder head off to survey the damage
  24. Vauxhall parts dealer should be able to print out an exploded diagram of the heater control parts
  25. Type your registration into EuroCarParts website and comes up with belt and not chain https://www.eurocarparts.com/timing-belt
