PSA infotainment reboot
Vauxhall Owners Club replied to Brado380's topic in Vauxhall Audio / Video / Electronics / Security SystemsHi....welcome to the Forum I would be concerned that the unit freezes on a 2020 car, it may be worth taking it back to the dealers and see if there is a software update to resolve this issue.

Vauxhall Insignia 2.0 CDTi auto transmission fluid
That sounds quite terminal, I would personally get it transported on a lorry (AA, RAC, etc) to your garage rather than drive it
-
Insignia Android Auto
I may have seem some updates being advertised online by individuals who have a crack to make it work but can't remember who they were so worth searching and see what comes up

Astra G different EGR valves
I suppose you could connect it without fitting it and see if it cycles with the ignition on. Beware that you can return it after it has been fitted as some supplier won't accept it back as can see the pins are scratched when fitted

Astra vxr bumper
Breakers yard is the only place I can think of except for eBay and the other online sites really

Astra G MOT Fail
It shows the Hydrocarbons (HC) being high....this suggests an ignition fault which is causing the not all of the fuel to burn. Suggest cure this and the emissions will come in line. Sparkplugs and HT Leads are usual suspects and then check the emissions after that (including Oxygen (O2) level which should be 0%)

Resetting the remaining oil life doesn't work - FIXED
Brake pedal is usually the reason why so I always put the pedal down just to ensure it works

Agila headlamp replacement
Not sure, would carefully try to prise it free if on clips but if screwed in it should be a bit tighter and wouldn't recommend forcing it
-
Glow plug light
It could be that you have knocked a connection loose in and around the area you were working in ?

Header tank caps
Hi Andy....hope you are staying well? Coolant pressure caps is important to be be in good condition and also the correct rating to allow the coolant boiling temperature to be raised by increasing the pressure in the system. Too high and it will pop at the specified pressure. If faulty it can draw air into the system and create a vacuum as you are experiencing. I would be tempted to replace the cap with a genuine part from the local Vauxhall dealer (shouldn't be too much)

Hi new member to the forum
Hi Russell.....welcome to the Forum The Astra looks in great condition for it's age 🙂

What is this inside my insignia 2.0 CDTI
It switches off the internal security (volumetric sensors) so the alarm doesn't go off it the doors are locked with a dog or children inside the car

Burning oil
Hi David.....welcome to the Forum I would definitely recommend taking the car to a good independent garage who can diagnose the engine accurately by measuring the compression of the cylinders and also carrying out a leakdown test to determine the health of the engine. It may also be coolant (white smoke) or even excess fuel (injectors) so not good to guess without diagnosing it first as this could be an expensive time when it doesn't necessarily need to be so. Let us know how you get on with it

Vauxhall Vectra A, 1999
Hi....welcome to the forum If the engine has been rebuilt then there shouldn't be any issues with it. Not sure of value as the overall condition would have to be taken into account But if its cheap enough it is worth a punt ...... let us know how you get on with buying it, or not

Antara starter motor problems
Hi John.....welcome to the Forum I would first check the engine earth leads as if these are broken or insecure then this can cause the issue you describe. Check the battery terminals are tight and the earth leads to the engine as well as starter motor terminals

Also, nice to know the specs are different therefore only generating quieter tones .... but at least you have the tones back now 🙂

Elite Xenon Headlight
Hi Danny Xenon HID (High Intensity Discharge) lamps work through with an igniter and specific D type bulbs. They also utilise vehicle height adjuster sensors which alter the headlight beam level to avoid dazzling other motorists when the vehicle changes pitch or load. These cannot easily be fitted to the vehicle retrospectively. However, you could possibly fit later Xenon style headlamps but fit your standard Halogen bulbs into them. Also, an upgrade on the bulbs to a higher output intensity (as in link below) https://www.halfords.com/motoring/bulbs/h4-472-car-headlight-bulb-halfords-advanced-white4000-single-pack-719314.html

OBD code readers.
Vauxhall Owners Club replied to Dermobear's topic in Vauxhall Audio / Video / Electronics / Security SystemsI use iCarSoft scanner for Vauxhall and seems to work well. There is other Vauxhall software which connects to a Laptop but think it only runs on Windows 7 and not 10
