  1. Hi Glad you managed to resolve it. It happens on Nissan and Renault where the button actually comes away from the circuit board and can be soldered back on.
  2. Fuel pressure is too high...try changing the fuel filter to ensure correct fuel return flow
  3. Had the same problem on my Honda CR-V and managed to find one that switched with the ignition but can't remember which one...was probably cigar lighter or similar
  4. Scrapyard would be your best bet or eBay
  5. Seatbelts should be the same except I would measure the dimensions of the metal tag that fits into the buckle
  6. Whose seen a decent series to watch over lockdown? Running out of programmes to watch now as seen so many in the last year on Netflix Leave your suggestions below, thanks!
  7. It could be a fault with the control panel so maybe just swap it out and see if more functions work afterwards. Replaced one on a Honda recently and it worked fine without any programming
  8. There are usually lots of mods to carry over to a vehicle which was not originally equipped with Xenon. One of the major components which you may not have on your vehicle is the suspension ride height sensors which will dip the beams when a load is applied to the vehicle. If these aren't fitted then it may prove more of a task
  9. I think there are many different types of chips available including Tuning Boxes but the power gains are all relative to the torque increase which on a Turbo Diesel is the most important aspect of increasing power output. I used a Tuning Box successfully on a Honda and the drivability was so much better (smoother) and the only thing that was compromised was increased clutch slippage (auto adjust type clutch).
  10. Hi...did you get the car back yet? Maybe the delay was due to getting the new seal which would be dealer only?
  11. If the speedo gets a reading from speed sensors built into the wheel bearing (which I don't believe were introduced into cars until a lot later) then if there was a discrepancy such as different rolling diameter (incorrect tyre profile size) then this could give an incorrect reading. However, if it took a speed reading from the ABS sensor then if the wheel bearing is worn then this could lead to incorrect speedo reading. I think you would hear a rumbling noise from the wheel bearing if it was that worn though, but worth checking. Also if the ride height is different from one side to the other then this could be a broken coil spring which is quite a common failure. Check the coil spring to see if it is all there and compare to the other side. Sometimes it isn't apparent that it has snapped until you jack up the body on that side and then see if there is a loose part of the coil.
  12. Hi Andy It may take the speed reading from the gearbox and this can happen when the drive is worn. From memory, it is easy to remove and check to see what condition the worm drive is in. Follow a thick drive cable into the top of the gearbox (could also just be a wire going onto a transducer but will still have the same plastic worm drive). Worst case scenario (which we used to have on Rovers) is when the final drive bearings drop due to wear and this can also make it jump
  13. Hi John.....welcome to the Forum It is possible that the current is shared by both items, assuming it can be switched independently. I would start by first checking the fuses to see where the power is going off to an also check the wiring near the screen
  14. I recently encountered a similar issue with a Honda and this came down to the fact that I fitted cheap (Chinese) bulbs and igniters....massive mistake. Fitted quality (but a lot more expensive) components and problem solved. Also, another issue I had was that the fitment was not as precise connection as the better quality component and didn't alway make good contact. It is worth double checking connection, etc but also check any earth leads (which will be close by and connected to the bodywork. If in doubt, run additional earth cables to the light units to ensure that the current circulates effectively.
  15. Hi MIxa....welcome to the Forum Welcome back to the wonderful world of Vauxhall
  16. I would reiterate what Andy has said and a good oil service may cure the fault. Additionally, oil pressure light switches do tend to fail and also leak oil> Very cheap to replace and easy to do as well
  17. Hi....welcome to the Forum Probably the best option would be something like Osram or Phillips performance bulbs that advertise putting out something like 30% more light and brighter colour (e.g. white or blue tint) to cut through the dark. Halfords sell them and will fit them at a small cost
  18. Hi....welcome to the forum can only suggest looking on ebay for trim clips and see if any match up to the ones you have. lots of other manufacturers would use similar clips probably sourced from same source
  19. Hi Thomas....welcome to the Forum Feel free to post up some pics of the Nova if you would like to Good to have you onboard
  20. Hi....welcome to the Forum If you are referring to the undertray then it should be okay to drive as it only benefits vehicle aerodynamics and also eliminates oil leaks from contaminating the road.
  21. Hi Susan....welcome to the Forum It is a feature that can be switched on and off and also has to take into account other factors such as battery condition so if the vehicle hasn't been used as it should (owing to Covid lockdown) then this may be the reason why. However, if you contact your dealer then they may be able to sort this very easily for you (switching it on).
  22. Hi Iceman29 ..... welcome to the Forum I think you'll find that the reliability of the 1.7cdti engine was perfectly adequate for the era and most are still carrying out with huge miles behind them. However, the 2.0cdti is not suppose to be as reliable, unless any other members can dispel this rumour? Worth digging a bit deeper to establish what issues may lay ahead
