Hi all Name is Kevin owned my Zafira since 2002 purchased as a 6 months old ex demo car from Hartwells
  3. Hi everyone, I thought I would introduce myself to you all as I think I have some interesting history with Vauxhall. Back in the late 1950/Early 1960 my father worked at the Vauxhall plant in Luton, not really sure what he did, but probably on the production line somewhere. My earliest recollection of the car he drove was a Bedford CA Dormobile, I don't know that much about it other than the Reg number of NEW641 and the memories of places we visited with this vehicle, believe me we did some miles in it. The next car he owned probably around 1966 was a truly fantastic car, The Vauxhall Cresta PA Estate reg number UPM70, what a lovely car that was. Next was the PC Cresta saloon, another work of art, then he purchased ( brand new) probably with staff discount a Viva Van, not quite sure what model HA or HB in white, as a second vehicle in the household, I do remember that he tought both my Mother and my eldest sister to drive in it. So as you can imagine there is a bit of Vauxhall in my blood, currently I own a VX220, and a Mavano van that has been converted to a Campervan and there have been many other Vauxhall's in-between, as well as some interesting history with a vauxhall dealer where I worked for a few years. Just a short taster of many years with Vauxhall, if anyone is interested send me a message and I'll get back to you. Thanks for reading this, all the best

Hi mate I completely forgot about sharing my photos of my new Corsa ultimate and I also went for the 130 turbo!!........ it's like it's been given a steroid injection 🤣
  5. Hi AndyR Just had the same issue if no noise coming from water pump it sounds good check your thermostat just changed mine and it gets up to temp a lot quicker and sits nicely between 88⁰-92⁰ hope this helps all the best.
  6. I have a 2019 Corsa registered in September 2019, I want to know if it has a dry belt, wet belt or timing chain because I have heard some woryying co9mments regarding wet timing belts
  7. 1 point
Up date on issue took a look at it and belt was off, puzzled really if belt was off how is I could drive car with message on dash, so refitted belt and the message as gone so I tested the battery (engine off) was reading 11.35 (engine on) reading 14.56 so took it for drive tonight no message back and belt still on strange, but still have a loss of power in car but this just may be down to the intercooler pipe as I may have a split in it some where as engine makes a whistling sound when accelerating would I be right there
  8. I’ve owned this car for 6 years and it’s never let me down (until now)! The head gasket has blown so just wanted to see if there’s any enthusiasts on here willing to take it on? Make me an offer??? 07506 401809. I’ve taken my private plate off now so comes with original reg KV09 LUP Still has MOT until end December, 2 x brand new tyres, brand new springs all round and front top mounts. car has wanted for nothing, very clean and well looked after. Thanks for looking!
  9. Thanks, had a rear end collision which split ad blue tank, was replaced by body shop and topped up. New tank fitted, tank topped and reset by Vauxhall…injector found to be leaking , also reset. Tank is over 3 quarter full so not level sensor? Dealer stating Cat failure…..!!!! Clowns….!!!…have reset codes and it now has more cleaner in diesel than diesel…!!!…..EML gone as has reset warning….just need to find the dodgy sensor
  10. Hi everyone. I'm looking for a driver's seat for above car. It's half leather and stitched
  11. 1 point
It's a 910 Bluebird 1.8 auto. It's been off the road 24 years. I keep saying I'll get it back on the road. But time finds me other jobs to do.
  12. Finally got to Halfords... They have an 'ISO Harness CT20VX04' for aftermarket radio in a 05-10 Meriva. It will take power as per the factory fitted radio. It does not connect to the steering wheel controls. Costs £25. As commented in the original post I already have an aftermarket radio and the steering wheel controls operate the radio. Halfords person suggested splicing the current red power cable to one that provides power to the fuse/cable that runs the windows, sunroofs and wing mirrors. Could not see any issue with a further 5amp load on the fuse. That is the route I had in mind but had concerns about the 'Body Control Module'. Seems the concerns are unfounded. One day I will get to play around with the wires in the car :0) Thank you for your input.

I ran my Astra on E5 to start with, and it didn't seem to happy. Was quite spluttery at times. Went over to the E`10, and she runs like a dream. And i can get an average 45-50 mpg. 1.6 16 valve automatic with 141000 miles, and 23 years old.

That's great news Andy and fuel filters are commonly overlooked on all makes and models of car, motorbike, you name it. May also be worth checking your coolant sensor and ambient air sensor (if fitted to your model) as sometimes they can give misleading information and that can affect idle speeds, etc
  15. 1 point
Yeh know what you mean, I ran Super Unleaded in my motorbikes and didn't make any difference to performance, etc. However, the Z3 (which is 25 years old now) and is in standard engine specs used to have a flat spot from about 1500 - 2500 rpm but as soon as I put the good stuff in it resolved that issue....If only I had know years ago as just put up with the running issue for so long.
  16. 1 point
Thanks Andy for sharing the detailed report as it would be useful for anyone else who is experiencing the same issues. I don't think it does any harm to internally clean some components due to carbon build up and degrading seals and gaskets. I think we are yet to see how the increased Ethanol in fuel will affect the older vehicles particularly when it comes to seals and gaskets - only time will tell. Look forward to the updated reports
  17. Thats strange, i went vauxhall they said its the MAP sensor on inlet manifold.... ive check the 4 pin wiring all the way to the ECU its all good, just waiting for new MAP sensor come to see if it is that

Well I removed the throttle body and gave it a good dowsing of carb cleaner. It was very Carboned up below the butterfly. I'm going to give the EGR a clean out too. And hopefully it will be a good cure.
  19. 1 point
Well after doing some research, I have discovered that it is a problem with the throttle body. So later today its getting hauled off and cleaned out. If that doesn't cure the problem then I'll have to invest in a replacement. I will keep everyone posted on the results.

Hi all new member I have a growing concern regarding this wet belt scenario I feel that it is time extreme pressure in some way should be applied to Vauxhall and other manufacturers to get rid of this wet belt whoever thought that this was a good idea I know other manufacturers use it as well as we will find out soon the cars for example bought on PCP of which more and more drivers seem to be going down that road will on average trade in after 4/5 years which means a lot of people buying second are going to experience this wet belt due for replacement not knowing this and continuing driving it with problems arising the average cost of replacing a wet belt is £1000 + where as a timing belt was on average £200 plus there a very few garages willing to tackle the wet belt replacement because of the amount of work on it I think vauxhall should either consider converting back to the timing belt or replace the existing cars with a chain that won’t deteriorate I think it is shocking that the motoring industry thought this was a good idea very poor show VAUXHALL & others Kenny L

Hi Tim....welcome to the Club Good to have you onboard!
  23. Just bought a 2007 Tigra to do auto testing in for a bit of a laugh. I was aware of the roof not opening along with the boot as well on purchase hence why the car was cheap. Rest of the car is in really good working order. The car does it's standard faulty beeping noise when first taking off which isn't a issue on a long journey but during an auto test when you stop and start alot it's becoming a tad annoying 🤣 Not bothered about roof ever going down but was wondering if simple removal of certain fuse will at least stop the constant beeping when I'm competing. Any advice would be appreciated.
  24. Finally managed to get my dash working again. I found a reset method which has cured the problem. It's called disconnection of the battery for 15 minutes. I decided to remove the after market wiring for the electric fan, and whilst doing this I needed to disconnect the live terminal. And once I had done, and all was back together. The dash was working again, and has been ever since. And I am no longer getting a static shock every time I get out of the car. Which is a win win in my book.
  25. Does your scantool have reset battery function - to register new battery voltage in the ECU?
  26. Limited edition long body nautilus 2.4i SORN...needs bodywork, radiator, lots of tlc - too much for us. Last of its kind. Sensible offers considered.

That's for accepting me to the club. Just brought a insignia ecoflex 2.0 cdti 2015, as a quick replacement as my honda as it lost compression on No2 cylinder and would cost too much to fix after 15 years I had it. I have had several corsa in the past for my boys but that was several year's ago now. I do nearly all my own maintenance and repairs. I have a good set of garage tools and a good engineering workshop to support all my activities including making or repairing tools. I'm pretty adapt at sorting electrical problems as well. Regards Raymond
  32. I have an Astra G estate 1.6 Twinport 2004. I have recently updated this to a 2015 model. I want to sell the car to someone who can benefit from all the parts on the car which has been pretty much maintained regardless of expense. Maintenance has used only authentic parts or OEM upgrades such as Bilstein, Monroe and Brembo. I have a spreadsheet available detailing all replaced parts and consumables. I had to change car as 2 of the cylinders need new rings. It even has a premium Kenwood DAB+ & Bluetooth Stereo. Can anyone suggest where I might offer the vehicle, which still drives, for sale? Thanks
  33. Hello everyone, I am seeking a source of SRi seat fabric to replace the square on the driver seat cushion. I am unsure of the name of the fabric but it is the grey with the wide diagonal pin stripe. I have tried finding replica fabric but not having any joy. Keeping a close eye out for donor parts, but I am wondering if anybody has a small supply of this fabric? Thank you for your help. Dan G
  34. HI all, We've had this for months, same sequence of errors and beeps. Someone (on here) recommended battery change as a possibility. We asked the bloke at Whitstable Halfords to check it for us. He used some gadget called a GS-Yuasa, set the stated amps of the resident battery (720mh) and asked it for the batteries condition....6%. Paid the (could not believe it) price of over £200 for NEW 800mh battery (fitted) and wayhay!! no beeps, no lights, no earache from certain others that use the car! Basically, it worked for us. Good luck.

Hi folks, just another new member here...name's Phil Bought my 2011 SRi VX line Sports Tourer when it was 6 months old and still have it and it's been mainly trouble free coming up to 102,000 miles. Used to take it to the garage to get serviced but have learnt to do that myself and also have tackled brakes, EGR valve cleaning and a couple of known issues like boot lid switch etc. Worst so far was a Stabilitrak error so changed the ABS sensor but it turned out to be the ring inside the hub, so changed the hub. Changed gearbox oil this morning and aligned the linkage for the first time whilst I was waiting for the oil to go in, gear changes were getting a little harder so hopefully not the start of something major 🤞 Anyhow, pleased to meet you folks.
  37. Have had this issue and Andy is right, it's a known problem but an easy...ish fix. You have to remove all the upper trim on the inside of the boot lid to allow access to the switch which sits inside of the external chrome strip. Water gets in from the seal of that strip and corrodes some of the wiring loom. If you feel competent enough, you can repair the loom but sometimes it is the actual switch. A new loom with the switch isn't expensive, but be careful when ordering, the hatchback version won't fit, I had to butcher that one! I added a waterproof tape to the upper side of the switch when installing again and put more sealant around the chrome strip too, hopefully stops future leaks. Good Luck.
  38. Hi Paul I find if your doing 58mph our above it will change into 6th gear if that helps

Have you got issues with drl? Do you have water in headlight unit?
  40. I have a Vauxhall badged ECKO CR32 car radio available. It belongs to my father who said that it used to work but I cannot verify this. It says made in Scotland which would be post 1940. Research suggests probably 1947. Open to offers for this.
  41. I just take it steady, and let the old girl build up speed steadily, rather than caning it. She'll plod along quite happily at 60/65mph, and around my local roads I'll average a max of about 50mph, as it's all country lanes and full of farm vehicles. But when I do get out on main roads then I will 65-70. Always a smooth build up. 🙂

Hi MylieMc, I have just been looking online, and have found the meaning of your code. You only go by the first 4 numbers, so yours is 1010. 1 = MFG Manufacture Specific. 0 =Fuel and Air Metering. 1 = Low Coolant Circuit 0 = Transmission Engaged at High Throttle Angle. It also states that P1010 is Foot Throttle Signal is Out of Range, IVS not changing. Reading on, it is suggesting to check throttle connections are fully connected. Or that the pins might need cleaning. Which could also cause a short . Might be worth checking all the wiring to throttle pedal, and any other wiring connections nearby. Hope this is of help. Keep us informed of how you get on with sorting it. Regards Andy.
  43. Anyone had problems with engine coolant temperature struggling to get of the bottom of the gauge? In normal running around town the pointer stays resolutely on the bottom stop, only after about a 12/15 mile drive does it eventually approach the 90deg mark. As a result the cabin heater is pretty inneffective. A reasonably informed guess by me (a lifetime classic car owner) suggests a thermostat fail, which on my classics is a £10 and hours job. A search on line seems to indicate that the Crossland thermostat is a comprehensive assemblage at around £120. and as far as I can tell is hidden under the inlet manifold, so much for progress! Booked to go into the local stealers next week, not looking forward to the eventual bill, unless anyone has some helpful suggestions.
  44. Hi everyone I have ordered a new 2024 facelift corsa and should be collecting any week now before Christmas and need a bit of help. I saw on sone other owner forums that people had issues with thier 23-24 plate facelift Corsa and Astras missing the ultimate badging and sills. It does state in Corsa brochure 130bp models only which is the model I ordered so I should have them. Has anyone else had the same issue as I don't know what they even look like so I cant see what I'm looking for if I need to ask the dealers if they are missing when I collect it. I can't even see anything on the review videos of 130bp model I have watched so will I actually get some kind of limited addition badging as the 130bp engine option isn't on their latest brochure stating effective Dec 3rd 24-25 only the 100bp options!? Does this also mean they have stopped to manufacture the 130np petrol engine option and therefore will be a rare car if this is the case? Plz help Regards Aaron
  45. Hi Andy It is possible that the waterpump impellor isn't working as well as it was when it was new and in the case of some old BMWs the impellor used to come off the shaft and sit idle and blocking the waterways. Remarkably, the engine gave no symptoms of any issues except for when sitting in traffic (thermosyphon system working as it should do) Worth replacing if in doubt but also don't forget the coolant expansion cap on the reservoir as if this is faulty then it can cause the same symptoms
