Hi Steve.....welcome to the Forum
It sounds like the switch could be faulty or a connection leading to the switch.
It may be worth lining a replacement up at the right price and changing it over. -
Hi....welcome to the Forum
It looks like the auxiliary drive belt has been changed from looking at the picture.
I would let them do what they have to do but do not accept it back if there is a diesel sound to the engine as this would suggest something is blowing and not connected back properly. There is no conversion to a belt from a chain that I know of.
Good luck and keep us updated on the progress

2002 car, I believe it has a Pretensioner stalk which if so has to be removed by disconnecting the battery power for at least half hour before unplugging the electrical connection to the stalk and then removing it with a spanner.
Disposal is another matter though

Feel free to jump in if you think you can answer any posts Jim, thanks

Hi.....welcome to the Forum
I believe this may be a common fault
Worth doing a search on the system fitted to your car and see what the results are

Hi....welcome to the Forum
It does sound like a Crank sensor issue.
There could also be a cam sensor but a scan should give you fault codes.
If a code is present for a cam sensor then the cambelt might be slack causing the code to flag up. -
Hi Andy, hope you are staying well?
It could just be condensation building up in the engine due to short journeys and not getting hot enough to burn off.
The trick would be to take the car on a long motorway run at speed to clear it through....could solve two problems at the same time?

Hi Jim....welcome to the Forum
This is an issue I am experiencing on a constant basis nowadays.
Having successfully fitted numerous belts over the years and never had any issues, but recently I have had a spate of 'squeeky' belts.I am quite sure it relates to the country of manufacture (China) and even though the latest 'squeeky' belt I fitted was a Gates belt it was still made in China, which to me signifies that it is of poor quality (e.g. possibly not much rubber content?).
I would source a reputable make of belt and preferably not one made it China .... this should resolve the issue.

Hi Dan....welcome to the Forum
That's a varied collection of cars you've owned over the years, personally I was a big fan of the mk3 Rover 200
Hope you enjoy your time with the Astra and good to have you onboard

On some cars the spanner symbol comes on to signify Service is pending.
Additionally, it can be to state there is a fault with the vehicle. It may be worth clearing the Service light by following any YouTube video on how to do this

Hi...welcome to the Forum
It's a difficult one because without drilling holes in the door and bulkhead which is not advisable at all then it will be difficult to introduce any further wires into the existing loom.
Lets hope someone can come up with an alternative solution

Hi Mike....welcome to the Forum
There should be a default for the brake to come on automatically when the power is cut and the vehicle is stationary.
It would worth visiting the dealership to ask them and if they need to make a default to the system.

Hi Antonio.....welcome to the Forum
What appears to be the problem with the ignition barrel?

Hi....welcome to the Forum
It is worth checking the microswitches as if any of these are faulty or misaligned then this will cause the issue.

Hi.....welcome to the Forum
I am surprised that the parts supply is drying up but I can also imagine that the secondhand parts market is quite buoyant also.
Good to have you onboard

It won't have an EGR valve
-
£60 is not bad price and if it makes the car run smoother and more economical then thats a good deal

Sounds like a sensor (or blanking plug) for automatic wiper sensing or similar
If you try to upload a photo (as small size as possible) and we can offer a more accurate idea

Hi....welcome to the Forum
Fault code 2345a is a boost pressure control circuit fault.
Sometimes, it can be from the variable vanes being gummed up in the turbo.
Maybe run some cleaning solution through the engine / turbo and give it a good blast which should clear it out -
Hi ....welcome to the Forum
This is a link to the code but not sure how it relates to your misfire
I would independantly remove and inspect each spark plug and see which one is wet to know which cylinder is misbehaving

Hi....welcome to the Forum
In this instance I would say there is a faulty wheel sensor and the ABS is offline as a result.
A quick scan would reveal which sensor is at fault and it should be a relatively cheap and simple task to replace it which will bring the system back online and put the light out
