  1. Hi Dan....welcome to the Forum That's a varied collection of cars you've owned over the years, personally I was a big fan of the mk3 Rover 200 Hope you enjoy your time with the Astra and good to have you onboard
  2. On some cars the spanner symbol comes on to signify Service is pending. Additionally, it can be to state there is a fault with the vehicle. It may be worth clearing the Service light by following any YouTube video on how to do this
  3. Hi...welcome to the Forum It's a difficult one because without drilling holes in the door and bulkhead which is not advisable at all then it will be difficult to introduce any further wires into the existing loom. Lets hope someone can come up with an alternative solution
  4. Hi Mike....welcome to the Forum There should be a default for the brake to come on automatically when the power is cut and the vehicle is stationary. It would worth visiting the dealership to ask them and if they need to make a default to the system.
  5. Hi Antonio.....welcome to the Forum What appears to be the problem with the ignition barrel?
  6. Hi....welcome to the Forum It is worth checking the microswitches as if any of these are faulty or misaligned then this will cause the issue.
  7. Hi Iain....welcome to the Forum A fine couple of Vauxhalls you have there. The Viva is now a very rare car indeed, not often I see one nowadays. Good to have you onboard
  8. Hi.....welcome to the Forum I am surprised that the parts supply is drying up but I can also imagine that the secondhand parts market is quite buoyant also. Good to have you onboard
  9. £60 is not bad price and if it makes the car run smoother and more economical then thats a good deal
  10. Sounds like a sensor (or blanking plug) for automatic wiper sensing or similar If you try to upload a photo (as small size as possible) and we can offer a more accurate idea
  11. Hi....welcome to the Forum Fault code 2345a is a boost pressure control circuit fault. Sometimes, it can be from the variable vanes being gummed up in the turbo. Maybe run some cleaning solution through the engine / turbo and give it a good blast which should clear it out
  12. Hi ....welcome to the Forum This is a link to the code but not sure how it relates to your misfire http://c0244.enginecodes.net/ I would independantly remove and inspect each spark plug and see which one is wet to know which cylinder is misbehaving
  13. It sounds like the coil packs or spark plugs are failing under load. You will need to replace the coil packs with QUALITY replacement parts and also the Spark Plugs will need to be set to the precise gaps and torque to the correct setting, otherwise the fault will continue in the future.
  14. Good luck with it and at least you'll have some spare bolts which are always handy to have to hand
  15. Best time of the year to get all these odd jobs done. What did the carbon clean cost our of interest?
  16. Not sure of the exact specification of the bolts but I would be tempted to remove one from one of the seats and source some replacements at Screwfix or similar store
  17. Hi....welcome to the Forum I use a Carsoft scan tool as this will cover many areas of the vehicle as opposed to just the engine
  18. Not sure the ECU would work without programming into the system but certainly worth a try if its cheap enough. Certainly sounds like its had many issues in the past. Keep us updated on how it all goes
  19. Thats a great result Cliff, sometimes it can be a simple adjustment but not if someone has been there before and messed it up. Thanks again for the update information
