My cousin is having issues with the radio not playing any stations at the moment, though his CD is playing okay. The radio frequency shows up in the display though it doesn't transmit any sound, not even a crackle. If I was to try another radio, could a CD30 be fitted? What are the differences between the CD40 and CD30? 

Hope somebody can help.

It could be an old radio with analogue stations being broadcast on AM and FM
