Classic Nut Posted March 4, 2024 Posted March 4, 2024 Bought a 1985 Carlton estate and within 15 minutes had locked car up, then lost keys. Can’t get key cut as need key number and it’s not written anywhere. Vauxhall can supply a key/keys but need key number. can get auto electrician to re-key it, but it’s not cheap. Any help greatly appreciated Quote
Vauxhall Owners Club Posted March 19, 2024 Posted March 19, 2024 auto-locksmith would be your best bet and may be able to cut keys for it Quote
onyxlock Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago (edited) Sorry to hear that! A professional locksmith can often help in situations like this by decoding the lock or creating a key without needing the original key number. It’s usually more affordable than re-keying through an auto electrician. Look for an experienced auto locksmith who works with older vehicles—they may even offer mobile service to come to you. It’s worth a call before going the expensive route. Edited 7 hours ago by onyxlock Quote
