Hi Al, I own crossland X turbo just over 3 years old and 27,000 miles on clock just out of warranty. 
unfortunately broke down yesterday had to be recovered and cylinder 2 not firing plug completely gone. New set of plugs and still same number 2 not firing. All comes down to timing chain gone. I’m devastated as I’m left with a car that’s only use at present is fit for the scrap yard until fixed with a huge price tag. 
I just wondered if anybody else has had this issue please. ? 
 

Has a compression check or leak down test been carried out to determine the extent of any engine damage?

Yes it’s become the worse case scenario engine damage
