Car doesn't turn over

When you try to start the car it is totally dead lights come on on dash apart from engine management light. Plugged code reader and and where getting no communication between canbus and ecu, checked connections on top of ecu checked connected on abs module checked earth on ecu, all fuses ok but still dead anybody got any ideas

Would start with checking battery voltage and heavy discharge test with headlights on to see how the battery holds up, charge or replace as necessary
