Just picked this car up gave it a bit of a run and it cut out / turned off i stopped and it started fine and run fine since it's a pertol 2.8 v6 turbo any ideas what that was about.

It could be a gummed up turbo and by giving it a blast it may have flagged up a boost issue which by switching off and on again has reset the Engine Management ECU.

Best thing to do now is to run a scan on the ECU for any stored fault codes and if it comes up with a turbo related fault then clear it out and run it again to see if it returns to the ECU memory
