Hi gang! Ok so ove not got the f23 gearbox fitted to my z20ler sri 200 astra h..

When ibstart the car thw vibration through the cabin is really bad, and when i rev it its even worse..

Ive fitted the rear mount, the side mount, and the front mount for the gear for that from the f23 set up as the engine didnt sit straight in the bay.. Anyway the mk4 2.0 gsi turbo cars dont vibrate like this so why does mine 🤔 i know mine was dmf and now has a solid flywheel but ive done many dmf to smf conversions and ne er experienced anything like it before

SOunds very much like an inbalance on the flywheel or clutch plate (which would be unsprung for DMF) or the input shaft bearing not being a snug fit in the end of the crankshaft possibly?

Alternatively it could be an issue with the engine misfiring slightly and being accentuated through the solid flywheel?

Yeah were goin with a dodgy solid flywheel that we used off the zafira gsi 🤔 got another used one on the way. Will have to out up with it untill after xmas now..

Life with a 5speed if proving to be better, the car pulls better and for longer and seems to be a bit better on fuel both round town and on motorway etc, ive got an issue woth either the turbo actuator or the recirc valve as the car sounds like a distressed turky when i lift off the gas

Hopefully the replacement flywheel should resolve the issue....but also maybe worth checking the clutch assembly for anything that could cause an imbalance.

The noise is on overrun so more than likely a loose turbo/intercooler hose clip or even a slightly split hose creating an escape of pressurised boost

Yeah got bit of a sticky actuator.. Seems to have freed up now..

Dispite the agro it is a worth while conversion and easy to do providing the car is willing to play ball when talking it apart 😂

I think the vibrations are coming from the rear mount beacket possibly fouling the steering rack as it sits over it on to its mount, havnt managed to get my head up in there to see properly yet (Saturday job)
