Hi I would check the engine doesn't smell of fuel because if the oil level is high it could be fuel washing down into the engine oil past the piston rings. Quite common if the car is only used on short journeys at low revs and the engine doesn't get hot. Let us know how you get on with it Cheers Trevor

Hi I would check the battery connections first as if they have a poor connection then that could lead to the symptoms you are describing. Also, ensure all earth leads and connection points on the chassis are in good condition. Cheers Trevor

There could be a slight possibility that the head gasket could have failed as if there was high pressure in the coolant, that could have led to failure of the oil cooler...just a possibility but worth running a coolant block test (chemical changes colour if combustion gases present). Alternatively, a more simple and cheap option may be that the coolant pressure cap has failed and not maintaining pressure in the system.

It could be the horn ring contact covered in muck....to remove the airbag, disconnect the battery for at least 20 minutes and then remove the bag, normally a couple of screws from behind. Once you have access to the steering wheel boss you should see a contact ring underneath the spiral SRS cable cassette (careful not to damage this and make sure it stays in position (dead centre on full turns each way). Clean anything that looks like it contacts and test after reassembling.

It does sound more like a MAF sensor issue....if you disconnect it and try it then if it improves the performance then its the sensor

Some EGR valves have a small pilot hole in them to allow a certain amount of gases to get through enough to not pull up any fault codes.

I think this is a common problem. May need resetting via diagnostic equipment rather than on the dash :(

Should be quite easy but the yellow/red wires (permanent and switched live) will need swapping round for an aftermarket unit as they do on most vauxhalls. Otherwise it will not turn on/off with the ignition properly or remember station presets etc
