  2. Hi....welcome to the Forum First thoughts are that it is either an ECU fault or a system relay fault. I would start by replacing the system relay....not a lot of money and you can do that yourself. Second thought is actually the immobiliser ECU which could be causing the issue. I would try the relay first and then if not, examine all external wiring through the engine bay to see if there is any chaffing occurring. Please let us know what you find, if anything and good luck
  3. Hi Daniel.....welcome to the Forums I would imagine it could be one of two things causing this. 1. Vacuum leak 2. Fuel contamination or engine requires an additive to clean up the carbon deposits Either way, I would take it into a garage to be checked over for fault codes and anything obviously faulty (e.g. misfire, etc) as leaving it could cause further damage to the engine or catalytic converter.   5. Hi Andy Not too sure to be honest....probably something maybe written in the Service Handbook (usually a print out of the specification which would show power output). Otherwise, it should be the same for the rest of the car, albeit engine components may differ slightly.
  6. The only other potential cause is the pad wear sensor on the front brake pads. If this is chaffed through and earthing out which could cause the light to flicker. Worth checking it has rubbed through anywhere and if so, insulate and relocate the lead
  7. The old Vauxhalls were definitely the best in my opinion....they seemed to go on forever, until the rust got the better of them 😞 Good luck with the Filler flap....probably just the solenoid...worth checking the electrical connections to it as may have gathered corrosion over time

Hi northernsean Hope all goes well for you with the Agila....some of the new developments take a bit of getting used to but I always start with my foot on the clutch (and always leave in gear as I don't trust handbrakes) as a precautionary procedure.   10. Sounds like it is at a stage where a replacement rack is really the way forward...safety first and all that! Played the game before with trying to replace seals but the pressure will just go to the next weakest point in the system (e.g. the other seals)
  11. As it has an automatic transmission, wiggle the gear selector or run it backwards and forwards through the gears and try removing it again

  14. Sounds like a soft fault....could be an Air Mass Meter not reading accurately and then clears but leaving a historic fault code. I'm sure there must be some trace of it in there somewhere. Did it happen after the service or before...only something may have been disturbed (connection, etc) and causing the lamp to trigger?
  15. Hi Stuart...welcome to the Forum Sounds like it could be a Service lamp which may need extinguishing if it had a service but wasn't reset...or it needs a service! Diesel engines do tend to over-inject slightly on startup as the fuel isn't completely burnt until cylinder temperatures increase sufficiently...which isn't usually too long afterwards. Check also that the oil is not degraded (see earlier comment on servicing) and that the level isn't dropping. Cheers, Trevor

  19. Rear shoes are always easy to do as long as you don't lose any springs, clips or anything else. Use a good selection of pliers to remove and replace clips and springs and only do one side at a time so if you can't remember where all the bits go back then you can refer to the other side. Good luck!

  22. the list is getting shorter then 🙂 worth trying a paperclip in the temperature sender unit on the radiator to bypass it to power up the fan...that would then suggest that the fan is working and that the sensor is at fault

  24. Sometimes the light will flicker if the handbrake lever is bouncing slight off the stop and it may need taking up the slack on the cables to compensate for this.
