  1. I managed to get some new OE hoses for the wife's Alfa Romeo GT diesel from eBay and as they were new they were more rigid unlike the old ones which had turned to jelly in comparison...lots more boost on low down revs.

  2. Hi....welcome to the Forum

As Siggy has mentioned, keep on top of servicing and use the best quality components and fluids as you can afford....it does make a difference on longevity of the vehicle.

    Good to have you onboard

  3. Hi Terry....welcome to the Forum

I would be tempted to drill a small hole in the rear where the water is collecting and insert a grommet once you have put some corrosion protection on the bare metal....better to let the water drain out than sitting there.

Also, worth sealing the light unit gasket to stop any further water ingress.
If it was me I would also fill the affected area with waxoyl or similar anti-corrosion wax treatment.

    Good to have you onboard

  4. not sure exactly where they would be located but would assume there would be one near the top and another somewhere near the bottom or at least both at the top at the same level and a plate securing it at the bottom (look underneath the radiator to see if there is a bracket there)

Let us know what you find

  5. Hi Carl.....welcome to the Club

Have you tested the alternator for output...should be around/just over 14 volts.

If providing specified current/voltage then I would suggest that the battery is defective (albeit a new one).

Had this in the past where a customer went off to get their own battery and fitted it but not keeping a charge.

Told him to take it back as it was a cheap one and spend a bit more money on a premium battery.....you can tell the difference in the same size battery by the weight of it....cheap one is a lot lighter as not much lead inside. You get what you pay for sometimes!

Let us know what you find

  6. shouldn't have a fuse on speaker wires as no large current in the wires.

I would run a continuity test on the wires to see if they are intact or if there is a break somewhere or even or connection block in poor condition or loose connections
