  1. Is the battery condition up there or is it an old battery and not able to provide power to the Steering? If it is getting slow to crank the engine over then this is one of the first things to check or replace
  2. Is the vehicle battery in good order (e.g. fully charged)? How bright are the headlamps when the ignition is on? Foot firmly on the brake pedal when trying to switch the engine on? Lock the car and unlock and try again
  3. Its a tough one and can only be diagnose correctly by carrying out some tests and then dismantling to determine the damage Got to be worth at least running tests to see if it is the head gasket or water pump at fault - you may be surprised by the cheap cost if it is waterpump However, loss of oil may be because it hasn't been topped up in a while and may just need an oil change (looking at it optimistically) Let us know what you find out
  4. Has any of the bulbs been changed lately?
  5. Hope you can get something sorted for this year (once it stops raining of course)
  6. Wired to save the battery power unfortunately, got the same issue on my Alfa Romeo as there is no 'acc' setting for the key position its either on or off
  7. Hi Dave...welcome to the Club Vauxhall is in the blood then? Good to have you onboard!
  8. The best and cheapest route would be to get one made by a company like Hyphose who make industrial hoses to order if you take yours in and they make to the same pattern

  10. It most definitely sounds like there is still some air in the hydraulic system Worth trying to bleed the system to see if it improves
  11. Hi fillo .... welcome to the Club What a joy to see one of the old SRi Cavaliers haven't seen one on the road in years! Good to have you onboard
  12. It may have blown a fuse if the wiring was broken it could have shorted to earth and popped the fuse
  13. It can be done via the dealership or an independent Vauxhall specialist who can program in the function
  14. I think it may be an issue with subscription to the service, worth contacting your local dealership to enquire about this
  15. I would look under the dash at the pedals and see if the pedal return spring it securely located and not broken or becoming dislodged
  16. I would be tempted to go for an aftermarket hose like Samco (Demon Tweeks sell them) as stronger and less likely to bellow on boost or detach from the housing....also a lot cheaper than OE
  17. Hi Craig, welcome to the Club You're never too old to mod cars (I'm still doing it to cars and bikes and I'm 59) the only issue is how much it costs and how much you tell the wife it costs Good to have you onboard!
  18. Sounds like a faulty ABS sensor which is causing the issue. Take to a local garage for a system scan and see what fault codes are stored
  19. My first thoughts are the battery is in poor condition and leading to the faults appearing Worth getting the battery tested with a deep discharge tester to determine the condition and if below par then replace with a quality battery.
  20. Ah I see your problem..... only other way I can think of is to do a continuity test with a multimeter if you can access the bulb and then the nearest connector block but this would involve you checking for power in the circuit first or disconnecting the battery to ensure there is no power going to the meter on the resistance setting Good luck with it all
  21. Yes, it should be fine
  22. Hi Richard.....welcome to the Club let us know how you find it once you have collected it
  23. Well it looks like there is a piece of the yellow plastic broken off so this pipe is probably leaking at the union You can tell if it is a diesel leak as it will smell strongly of diesel whereas oil does not tend to smell that much (unless it is being burnt) I would advise you to go to your local Vauxhall dealership to price up a new plastic pipe (show them these photos) and then either get them to fit it (shouldn't take long) or take it to another garage to have fitted. If it is leaking diesel fuel then do not delay as this can be a dangerous situation if the leak worsens
