  1. looking good. You didn't fancy doing them red then to match the car.
  2. You've definitely made a class job of the engine bay. Do you cover the electrics when rinsing off the cleaning solution. I have always been a bit scared of getting water into the electrics and causing a short somewhere. My engine could seriously do with a good clean up. Regards Andy.
  3. Hi VXRDavie. Welcome to the club. It is a fine example you have there. It certainly is clean and tidy, and with such low mileage too. I do like your idea of trying to keep it all original, I'm like that that as well. Originality looks more in keeping, than a advert for halfords. Happy motoring. Andy R.
  4. Hi Garry, welcome back to the vauxhall family. That is certainly a nice looking Insignia you've got there. May you have many happy miles of enjoyment. Andy.
  5. Hi Wincza, There is a member on the forum who has been doing quite a bit with the gtc astra. If you look him up on here he might be able to help with some advice, as i know through talking with him a while back that he too was having electrical issues with his gtc as well. He goes by Westcliff67. Hope he can help. Regards Andy.
  6. Hi Cal98, have you checked to see if there is a blockage in the filler neck stopping water getting into the main part of the bottle. It certainly is a weird problem to have. Regards Andy.
  7. Hi Mark, and welcome to the forum. We all have quirky bits on our cars, and it makes me wonder if they are designed in the car. What sort of quirky things do your cars do, and are they annoying quirks, or i don't notice it after a while type quirks? Regards ANDY.
  8. Hi Marc, I see you went to the dark side with a c-max. Welcome back to Vauxhall. I'm sure ther is someone on the forum that would give you advice if you need it. Regards Andy.
  9. I did the front part from cat to centre about 6 months ago, as flexi blew out. So now it'll be from there to the back, as it's the joint on both bits blowing. And yes they are reasonably priced.
  10. I did take a photo, I'll see if I can upload it. It certainly does show how well engineered they are. Got to sort out rear exhaust as its very blowy, and I think pass the gun gum stage. But other than that it's going well.
  11. As the sun has been shining, and it looks like it will be for a while. I decided to give the old girl a spring clean, inside and out. And it needed a good quantity of the Sahara removing too. Now looks good for it's............. wait for it............. drum roll please........ 222200 miles.
  12. Hi Wullie, welcome to the forum. I'm sure there will be someone on here that could help you with your Vivaro camper. Andy.
  13. That's not good, but at least it's getting sorted. Keep us informed of what the garage find. Will be curious to know what caused it to over heat after a fresh oil change. Andy.
  14. Looks like I'm going to be going a delving into the deep dark depths of the engine bay. I was wondering if the pipes from and to the egr might need a clean out. Will see how it goes.
  15. Hi Deso, I wouldn't have thought that K-seal would cause oil pressure problems, as it is for coolant leaks. Was the coolant leak coming out of engine, or mixing with the oil? I have used it in my Astra, as i thought i had a leak causing oil to get into the coolant. Not head gasket problem, as oil is not getting contaminated. I have never had the low pressure light come on due to the k-seal. Regards Andy
  16. Well I was hoping that was the case, but after a run into town Tuesday all was going well until I had to shoot out Tuesday evening to rescue the wife and her car. And half way to her, it came back on again. So I'm now open to suggestions as a next step. Car is still running fine.
  17. Hi DaniH, It would be worth enquiring if it has a good service history. If it has been well maintained, and no expense spared, then yes it would be most likely worthwhile. Vauxhalls will last into high mileage if regularly serviced, and maintained. Hope this helps. Andy.
  18. Hi Trevor, had a obd2 on it this afternoon, it showed 2 codes, both relating to egr, one was that the egr had restricted flow, and the other was on about poor emissions. Brother in law did a test on the egr and it came up as clear, so he has cleared out the codes, and I'll take it for a run tomorrow and see what happens. Will let you know how it plays.
  19. Hi all, a while ago I was having trouble with my EGR, but After replacing with the spare one that came with the car, it cleared, only to return to have trouble again. I put the old egr back on, and the car was good again ,engine management light was back on, but the car has been running fine. Well I have now bought a brand new EGR. I fitted it the beginning of the week, and after a good run into town, ( about 12 miles) the EML went out, and everything was good. Now here's the BUT!! 2 days later, and some 50 miles of tripping about. The EML is back on. Can anyone shed some light on why this is. Car is running like a dream, somewhat better than when i first bought it, but with a nice bright orange light showing. Its a 1.6 16 valve auto . Regards Andy.
  20. Hi Adam, its known as the Front Bumper Spoiler (Bumper Lip), and it comes 2 pieces, left and right. Hope this is of help. Regards Andy.
  21. Hi Colin, and welcome to the forum. It sounds like a nice example and well cared for Frontera. Many Frontera's seemed to have had the life pulled out of them, or were poorly maintained so they ended up in the junk yards. It might be worth posting up some pictures on here in the for sale section, and either put a price, or contact details for anyone who might be interested. Regards Andy
  22. Hi Tiggys Princess, and welcome to the forum. Your Vectra SRi is a nice clean example, and has certainly been well maintained by the way you describe it. Like most Vauxhalls, if maintained regularly, they will go on for a good few years. If you have any questions about parts to get, or what would be the easiest way to do a repair if needed. Then feel free to post on here, there is always someone who has ideas to help. Happy motoring. Regards Andy.
  23. Hi Adam, welcome to the forum. Good to hear that you are loving your Corsa. If you post the same question about servicing on the page that says about Vauxhall talk, you will no doubt have someone comment with advice on what would be best for your car. Regards Andy.
  24. Hi there Bill, you say parts for estates, but you didn't say what model. I'm guessing as you own a Carlton that they would be for a Carlton. Regards Andy.
