  2. Hi buddy i have checked there is 14v going to the sockets. Looks like the main cigarette lighter holder is faulty. Do you know part numbers or where i can source some. Not looking to spend a fortune as im not sure how long i will have the car for thanx.
  3. Hi....welcome to the Club some cars are going to be a pain from the beginning (my hate is VW) and are plagued with problems. sometimes you get a good one and sometimes a bad one (Friday - Monday cars). Good to have you onboard and hope you can resolve some of the issues
  4. I'm going on a hunch that the battery may not be up to the job....had similar on an Alfa Romeo and it was a choice between replacing the battery (which the existing one was good enough to run the car) or sit there for a while once the engine had started allowing the battery to recover slightly. See if it does the same thing, rather than turning the steering just let it sit there to see if that still works

  11. When i start my car, if i put it in gear straight away and pull away normally, all the lights come on and get a "stop the car", i let it sit, or do the turn steering full left and right usually corrects it. Anyone else have that problem ??
  12. Newbie 61 year old, had Vauxhalls since early 80s apart from an awful Ford Orion with a built in swimming pool on the back floor, and a worse Citreon Picasso. Now driving a Crossland turbo, and am not a fan, have faults that others on here are experiencing the same...sigh

  27. really need a sunny spell for a few days, see if it dries up or not. Keep heating up when testing to get the water going through the matrix. See what happens. Interested to find out how it goes. Let us know.
  28. Been out this morning to inspect every door seal and boot seal and nothing checked pipes in engine heater pipes all look ok so ive hoovered carpets wet and the dried because its started to smell if that doesn't work then I have no idea due a mot and service in January so I will ask my garage to have a good look underneath
  29. you will really know about it if it is, not just slight misting up when its turned up. you will get it more with heating up. Will smell slightly as well. Its been raining lately, a lot of it, still think its a water leak, to be honest I hope it is because you dont want heater matrix to be leaking. Door seals leak and are hard to find, my mother has leaking boot seal and never did get to the bottom of it.
  30. Been out today when I turn heater down low its steaming up so I dont no door seals look ok and windscreen in ok aswell im thinking its the heater matrix
  31. I think if it was heater matrix then you would get chronic condensation I bet its door seal. Easy fix and shouldnt be too expensive or windscreen seal

  33. I've checked the coolant level which was a bit low so topped that up, checked all pipes and they look all ok, I had a vectra years ago which did the same and that turned out to be the heater matrix I have noticed that the heater was blowing cold air until I topped it up with water and some antifreeze which has made the heater blow hot air now but still got a wet floor 😡
  34. Hi, I keep meaning to say thank you for your advise. We're a bit skint at the moment and the steering isn't playing up (touch wood), so we're saving up and hopefully get it in a garage ASAP. Thanks Ang :-)
  35. Ahh. Thats that idea out the window. What are the door rubbers like? Maybe heavy rain is getting in that way. When you looked in engine bay for any leaky pipes. Did you check the coolant level? If that is a bit low then maybe a pipe going to heater .

  37. Do you have a sunroof?? If you do, it might be worth checking the drain holes in the front corners of it to see if they are blocked. These drains normally are routed down the A pillar and can cause water to seep in to the footwear.

  39. Need some help i own a 64plate vauxhall insignia cdti vrx line and have noticed a damp smell and when ive looked its coming from the passager foot side and carpet is wet ive looked underneath and on engine bay and can't see any holes or cracks in pipe does anybody no what it could be thanks
  40. Have you checked all wiring to all sensors as a break in a wiring could cause this issue - see if it happens when the engine is running and you 'wiggle' the wires going to sensors and actuators
  41. Hi all, hoping someone can help me out here. I have a 2011 zafira 1.7 cdti, car has been perfect for the last 4 years then out of the blue it started juddering, limp mode and smoke out the exhaust. I scanned it with my snap on solus and had an injector 4 code misfire so I ordered a new one, along with a new bosch fuel filter, changed it along with new seals and coded it. Car now starts but have a code telling me small quantity not learnt, so I go into special functions and start the test..... it won't complete it, car stalls and won't restart, now have a dpf fault, removed dpf internals and map out, car starts again but still won't learn the small injection quantity, its up to temp, doors closed, everything off etc and now the injector 4 misfire and limp mode are back. On searches seems a common fault with the 1.7cdti
