Oil consumption
Purchase a 21 plate grandland x with just over 7100 miles in 2024 drove to Bournemouth and back in June 24 and oil light came on Purchase oil from dealership and topped it up. Services done Dec 24. June 25 drove to Bournemouth again and on my way home oil light came on took it to the dealership and they did an oil consumption test cane back fine (they said) Dec 25 oil light came back on Service done aug did another oil consumption test and said using more oil than they like . I use my car every day for work and can do anything from 20 -50 miles per shift (care worker) plus my daughter does Cheerleading and I drive to Manchester at least once a week and to completions . just spoketo customer service opend a case with them so that the dealership i purchase from can take a look at it as they said the Warranty Clark has said Vauxhall will not except them (the service history as not done at Vauxhall) for us you will have to put your case to Vauxhall customer services

Astra headlights poor
Hi, welcome to the club. Halfords sell upgraded bulbs that would be a direct fit and will instantly improve visibility...they can even fit them for you so you would be able to see the difference against the standard one

Crikey! that's a punchy engine - the 2.3 Magnum was a real powerhouse and not much could challenge that engine (and car) back in the day (when Vauxhall were heavily into motorsport) Totally agree, you will find out how well (or bad) the car has been built and you can add mods to it as you go along.

Paint chips
Well that's a very good start and you have more patience than I do for those types of repairs. Look forward to seeing the end results once the rest of the materials arrive

Future vintage Vectra 2.5 V6 CDX Auto for sale - SOLD
Sadly I had to dispose of this car as I had no responses for many months, then one day when running it smoke came pouring out of the engine bay. Probably alternator. Can't see how to take the advert down on this site.

ODB error keeps returning
Appreciate the optimism, I really do, but I can't start because I don't know where to start, I simply can't find any schematics or sheets or whatever detailing how to get to the throttle body. Not a mechanic, but would go for the job if I had some support (sheets, schemes etc). Does anyone know where these could be brought/accessed? I tried looking for Crossland workshop manuals, bought the online Haynes manual which is not that detailed, but I can't find a proper workshop/service manual, not even to buy online. Any support would be appreciated.

Wow, that looks a really fun car, I owned a GTM spyder for a while withe 1.8VVT engine and it was built by a Lotus engineer so it was better tha many I'd seen, but sometimes a tear down and reassemble is the best way to get the car the way you would want it. Have fun and all the best with it.

Paint chips
Finally had a spare 90 mins today to get work started on my paint chips , previous owner or dealer had touched a few chips in with touch up pen , but it was wrong colour of red ! And also there are some chips, small but thru to the white primer , so today (pics below) I cleaned the chips and rubbed down the wrong colour paint with Isopropyl and 600 grit wet and dry , and will now leave the new paint I touched in to dry and harden and when I get home at the weekend the papers up to 5000 grit and the polish and pads I ordered will have arrived and I can add more coats and cut and polish the paint in a bit better . More pics to follow at rhe weekend when I get to do stage 2 of this job. Pictures are before and after touch up and 600 grit sanding.

Blower/ AC
Hi, I have a Grandland X 68 plate, petrol. The blower/ac has stops working every now and again. It stops for a few weeks and then starts again: When it stops, there is nothing that comes out at all, the lights still work on the controls for it. Anyone had the same issues? Thanks in advance.

Hiya
Hi Andy , thank you for posting. I certainly will take you up on your offer for advice , and I'm a monster for regular and proper oil and servicing, on any car I've owned, firm beliver in prevention over cure . I'll post some photos as I go along . Cheers Steve

Hiya
Hello Steve. Welcome to the club. Feel free to post pictures of your car for all to see and admire. Yes as was mentioned in an earlier comment, I have some knowledge on maintenance on the Astra's. I am on my 2nd mk4 Astra, and wish I had got in to them years earlier than I did. I have been doing quite a bit to my beast, which due to its age is just replacing worn out parts. The main thing to do is keep up to date on servicing, and they'll return good mileage back. My Astra is a 1.6 16 valve auto, and has recently hit 242000+ miles, and is 24 years old. Happy motoring.

Future vintage Vectra 2.5 V6 CDX Auto for sale - SOLD
Hi, has this car sold yet? The GOV.UK tax website shows no current record for the vehicle, while the MOT history site only shows an expired MOT. This seems to suggest that a certificate of destruction may have been issued—if so, that would be a real shame for such a modern classic. If this is simply a system error (which is of course possible), could you let me know how much you’re asking for it and where you’re located? Thanks very much.

- Paint chips
Today I picked up some 600 grit wet and dry and a power red paint stick and some Isopropol alcohol. Tommorow , I've told the missus if anybody phones for me " he s outside working on the motor ! " I'll sand back the paint chips , clean with IA and then paint in some colour to build up level. Then I'll let it harden as the rest of the wet abd dry from 1000 to 5000 and some polish discs for the drill need to arrive in the post , but I'm hoping to make some very neat paint repairs.- Additive consumption fault
I would advise to try a second opinion from a specialist as you may end up spending more on parts that may not be needed.Vauxhall Owners Club started following Additive consumption fault- Earlier
