  4. Hi, everyone. Could anyone reading this please help ? I just been outside to change my rear shocks, once removed I discovered that all four ,top and bottom parts that hold the actual springs in are completely rusted away and nothing but rust flakes ! Can anyone advise where, and if I can buy and replace these ? Also what are they called ? The car is a 2001 estate and far to good to scrap. I would greatly appreciate any help/ advice that anyone can offer. Being a 74 year old disabled person, I'm sure that you understand just how much I need my car. Many thanks in advance for any help, information, informing me whether on not it is possible to buy the parts required . Kind regards, Kevin.
  5. The battery in my 2012 Insignia 2.0 CDTi keeps going flat. It was only during winter that would happen at first, I had to go out & start/run my car for about 30 minutes every other day to keep the battery charged (when I wasn't using it everyday due to working from home). Now it's doing it no matter what the weather is like. I've checked the parasitic drain on the battery & it seems very high (at 3 - 5 amps) with the ignition off & the key in my pocket. There were three piggyback fuses for some things (one of them I had fitted for a dashcam, two seemed to be dealer installations), I disconnected all the piggybacks & checked the drain again - no change. Any ideas please?

  10. My 2018 Grandland x 1.2 turbo is drinking oil, there does not appear to be an oil leak but I have to constantly top up the oil. It has now reached a point where the engine light comes on and after putting a litre and a half of oil in it is still showing no.oil on the dipstick. I pay for a warranty £50 a month but have been told the engine needs to be taken apart and if it's a warranty issue it will be dealt with but if not I have to pay for it myself. Has anybody else had any issues like this and if so what was your course of action please I feel like I'm being fobbed of and robbed.
  11. I have had the same problem in my 65 plate car in the blue. Strangely at the Same sort of time too. I love my car but it looks awful, Did you contact Vauxhall at all?

  13. Hi - Anyone know how to remove the rear bench seat from a Crossland X . I can't see any levers or latches or even any screws/bolts etc. My specific car is a 2020 Crossland X Griffin - just standard rear seats - not sliding etc. Thanks.
  14. Cheers, I am hoping for good news when it goes in. With all that's been done over the last few months I can't see there being any issues.
  15. Hi DDK Did you get a resolution to this issue ? I had exactly the same 3 weeks ago, replaced turbo infeed pipe , all good. Sadly same sequence of lights as you again today !!

  18. Hi all, recently purchased a 2018 insignia 1.5 petrol, and I have had to get the timing chain done already after 8 days, besides that, since I have got th car back, a new click/ clunk comes from the engine on a cold start up, I was told it was completely normal for these cars as it's just the actuators so they are now not responsible after replacing the chain , I didnt believe them but had no choice to take the car home, but now that clicking not only happens on a cold start up, it's starting to happen every time I press the throttle even if I so much as tap it, I have made sure to test with air con completely off and the clutch down to see if it goes and it doesn't, it really doesn't sound right, it sounds quite deep in the middle of the engine, should I pursue this or is it genuinely normal for an insignia? Please bare in mind I am by no means a mechanic, I appreciate any/ all advice!
  19. My wife purchased a Grandland brand new in 2022 from Bristol Street Motors Sunderland, well after the known issue of the wetbelt, she also purchased the service plan. She was not informed of the issue by the dealership, and was not told that if your service is late it invalidated the warranty. She has had it serviced each year at the dealership and after about 19 months the oil light came on. Contacted the dealership said if there is enough oil in (not to minimum line) then it will be ok until service. She got it serviced and they told her no issue and no reason for loss of oil, no leak etc. Dhe was told these 1.2 engines use 0.8l per 1000 miles. A few months later the light came back on and took it in again where they said no issue and these engines use 1l per 1000 mile. Yet it went up in less than 3 months. After the 3 year service 27000 miles, she was told that the welt belt was cracking and needed changing. First service 10000 miles second after 9000 and recent after 7500miles. Spoke to Vauxhall and said warranty void because the first service was 2 weeks a 1 day late. Now the fact that it said 20000miles for first service waiting until she was off did not appear as an issue. No one from Bristol Street explained that it would void the warranty when they rang her up to book it in the warranty if it was not done within 6 weeks of 1 year old. Vauxhall have basically said they wont do anything and contact the ombudsma. I suggest avoiding Vauxhall, we will never buy a Vauxhall ever again. Selling something with a known issue and then not highlighting possible future issues so as bot to reduce sales is a company that does not care about their customers. I believe that to be the case with the sales team at the dealerships also.
  20. Hi! I have a 1.4 Astra 1997. Recently bought it. It’s very clean. But the engine management light comes on often, I’ve noticed it comes on more if I have to put E10 in also it’s missing and it loses power..but that can happen even with E5. Today the oil light has started flickering checked the oil but there plenty in it, I did too up just in case..still light comes on. Any ideas please
  21. Sorry to hear that! A professional locksmith can often help in situations like this by decoding the lock or creating a key without needing the original key number. It’s usually more affordable than re-keying through an auto electrician. Look for an experienced auto locksmith who works with older vehicles—they may even offer mobile service to come to you. It’s worth a call before going the expensive route.
  22. Each day I turn the car on, I get these: I cannot find any way to disable them. Can anyone please assist?

  24. Hi there I bought a 2013 Meriva B 1.3 Ecoflex and 500 miles later the power steering stops working and I get a Code 68. Scan with Foxwell NT301 shows no trouble codes or pending codes. New battery just fitted, stop/start AGM thats correct for the vehical. Voltage on start up reaches 15v for about 30 seconds then settles down to 14.5 and eventually 13.7 (not sure how normal that is) I'm wondering what my next step is. Any advice much appriciated Thanks!

  27. Mine is the same model and year. It crashed when I used the Vauxhall update. In the end they paid half but not without a fight. It still cost me £611
  28. I need a power steering pipe. I've a 3.2 series b and the pipe goes over the cross member at the front of the chassis. I's the top one I need. The lower one is okay.
  29. I would try to acquire an electrical workshop manual for the car as from memory I cannot recall any of the component locations so maybe best to look at a wiring diagram.
  30. it just probably needs using and running at higher engine revs to bring the engine to temperature where the piston rings can seal a bit better - usually gummed up with carbon
