Aw 50-40le auto gearbox
Hi I have 1.8 8v cavalier MK3 with aw 50-40le auto gearbox. I need to do an oil change as it's dirty but need to know how much it takes as some sites say 3 l with out filter and some say 6l. It has to be done via dipstick hole as it a sealed box so only will do a basic change. Does anyone have this box that can advise. A rust free car with 96000 from new and original radio cassette. Cigarette lighters
Hi looking for some help regarding cigarette lighter sockets. When i bought the car the 1 beside usb was not working so i used the rear near passenger footwell centre section and that went off aswel now. The fuse is ok i checked its in the engine compartment its a 20amp and i also switched it with another 20amp and both fuses are fine. What could it be? Will i need to replace both cigarette lighters if yes which 1s should i get. Any help will be appreciated thanx.

Failed firmware upgrade
Same problem here updated after owning the car for a couple of days. To be fair the dealer managed to inspect the unit 3 days later & after consultation with Vauxhall techs have told me the unit is dead. The manufactures warranty on the vehicle runs out on the 30th November 2025 so waiting to find out if the cost will be covered. I have been told the unit itself costs £880 so fingers crossed.

Parts number
If it is just an O ring then I would go to a hardware or hydraulics store which should sell them but ensure they are black in colour as if they are any other colour it could mean they are made of Viton or some other material that is heat resistant. Maybe also worth applying some sealant or grease prior to fitting

Vauxhall Astra 2011 power steering motor issue
Hi...welcome to the Club First thoughts are battery - it may be healthy on test but if its the wrong type then this can also cause problems. If you turn the engine over and the light comes on and the steering is heavy almost immediately, then switch it off and immediately try again - if the light stays off and the steering is fine then it is more that they battery cannot provide the power required to work the steering rack and it goes offline. I would also advise to avoid the dealerships as they just fit new parts and hope it cures the fault. If you go to a skilled mechanic in an independent garage that is capable of scanning the fault codes and also measure the voltage at the steering motor to see if it is especially heavy demand (could be poor connection, dirt or water ingress in the connector, etc). Also, they should be able to check the Load and Angle Sensors are calibrated and can adapt it through their test equipment which is an easy job to do. Let us know how you get on with finding a good independent garage that is good at electronic faults

New Member: Hi all
Hi...welcome to the club It's nice to see some connoisseurs like to look at the alternatives out there rather than jumping on the band wagon. The ST is a good car but there are equally satisfying cars out there at a fraction of a price as they are not rated by their badge. I owned a Rover 200LE 'BRM' - a limited edition (795 made for UK market) and it was and still is the one car I wished I had kept for its unique style (google the images of the Rover BRM) and was an homage to the racing cars from the nineteen fifties and sixties. There were many other 'limited editions' available at the time - Renault Clio Sport 'Williams Edition' to name just one - ANYONE ELSE ADD TO THIS LIST? but most of the time it came down to the badge and no one wanted to drive an 'old mans' car like a Rover, albeit not at all standard at all. Good to have you onboard and feel free to pop up some photos of your Astra GTC VXR

For Sale - V/Vectra 2.0 (Petrol) SRi Nav T - Reg DN57HAU
Owned from new - metallic silver with factory fitted full body styling kit + 19in alloy wheels (snowflake design). Additional spare alloy wheel (purchased when no longer being manufactured). 130,000 miles - still runs extremely well. Bodywork in reasonably good condition for its age. Serviced and MOT'd last month. Excellent tyres - all tyres purchased during this year. Genuine reason for sale - running costs now somewhat of a luxury with only doing approx 2000 miles a year - for some years now. Does need money spending on it due to following issues - Offside & nearside inner drive shaft joints severely deteriorated (MOT minor defects) Nearside rear brake pipe corroded (MOT monitor & repair if necessary - advisory) Alloy wheels (which make the look of the car) could do with refurbishment. Panel on drivers door that operates both front windows not working. Petrol cap disconnected from central locking system as solenoid needs replacing. Wiper motor/linkages need attention as both wipers sweep against/beyond windscreen rubber surround. Water ingress into front passenger footwell. Reason unknown - suspect it may be windscreen seal damage/deterioration (not visible) where wiper blade has swept onto/over the rubber seal. Car needs TLC from a Vectra enthusiast who has the skills to maintain it. It would be such a shame to scrap it as 2.0 SRi petrol variants aren't so common these days - the car genuinely looks good. All offers considered. Tel: 07733 359313.

Easytronic 2005 Meriva Not Starting - Flashing F
Is it paddle shift as well? if so, maybe try turning the steering to a different direction in case there is a flat spot present or damp/dirt in the connections? Its worth a try and at least you can eliminate that off the list

Wet belt & hello!
Luckily the Corsa only has 1 wet belt on the earlier fords there are 2 belts camshaft drive and some garages only replace the top one, so when inspected it looks like the belt has been changed, but then the camshaft belt shreds.

2016 zafira 1.4 turbo tourer hose header tank outlet pipe
Hi there have you tried ebay? Failing that it might have to be a vauxhall dealership. I have found in the past that ebay has come up trumps on a lot of parts. Some can be high silly prices, but thee are quite a few that are decently priced. Hope this helps. Regards AndyR

07 plate Vivaro rear seats
Hi all, I'm new to the forum, I've done some hunting but can't seem to see if this question has been answered before. I have a 2007 vivaro with a crew cab and standard seats. I was wondering if it is a straight switch to remove these and replace them with a set of folding rear seats from a vivaro life/combi from the same year or model? Looking at creating a bed in the back whilst maintaining the ability to transport 6 people. Thanks in advance Jules

Grandland 2025 problems
I have two problems with my new grandland. 1. Electric boot will only open on it's own 10 per cent of the time 2. It will not run in hybrid mode if the fan is switched on. Fan off and it runs in in hybrid. Has anyone any suggestions on how to rectify these problems John
