I recently bought a Meriva (2013) and it had an issue with the immobiliser yesterday. I had driven a short distance and it wouldn’t restart.
Jump start etc not effective.
Eventually discovered that disconnecting the battery reset the immobiliser and the car started immediately. I have since googled and apparently this is a known fault!
Has anyone come across this and if so what do I do to prevent it recurring? The car battery is low quality and may need replaced. Is that likely to help?
I have replaced the battery in the fob (although the previous one was still working )

thanks
