February 22Feb 22 hi all. Firstly apologies if this has already been covered - I couldn't find it amongst the other threads, hence this post. I have a 2015 2.0 Biturbo diesel, 128k. Always given Dexos 2 oil every 10k Car runs well - no horrible noises, idles well,returns decent (ISH) mpg. However if I bimble around town for any amount of time when I get out to open highways and accelerate I get five or so seconds if blue / white smoke. Then all is good and no amount of hard acceleration creates any smoke at all. Until I next bumble around in 2nd / 3rd gear for a bit. No smoke at start up, only after a bit of town work. at first I thought it was the turbo but after the first blast of smoke it doesn't happen again. If it was stem seals it rings I'd expect it to do it after it starts each morning. does this ring any bells with anyone?
February 25Feb 25 It does sound like it needs to have a constant clear out of the carbon build up in the EGR, DPF and Turbo. Carbon builds up in town driving and only really has a chance to clear when the power is applied. When a DPF regenerates it produces smoke and you will also notice the engine temperature may rise. This is normal and needs to occur more frequently to keep the DPF clean otherwise it will cost a fortune to clean or replace
