mark Hazell Posted December 16, 2022 Posted December 16, 2022 (edited) Hi. I have just had two instances of a message saying release clutch come up on my dashboard. Both times the clutch was fully up. Any idea what this could be and is it anything two worry about Just to add it was in icy conditions Edited December 16, 2022 by mark Hazell Additional info
Vauxhall Owners Club Posted December 28, 2022 Posted December 28, 2022 Apart from resting your foot against the clutch pedal then possibly it is sensing some slippage through the clutch (in fact loss of wheel traction) which may be interpreted as clutch slip?
aquiece27 Posted January 11, 2024 Posted January 11, 2024 Hi Mark Did you ever get to the bottom of this? I have the same issue, strangely just after I've had a new Clutch fitted and gearbox replaced. Cheers
samir1989 Posted February 9 Posted February 9 (edited) I am getting the same message on my dashboard when I am driving in 5th and 6th gears on Motorway. The Error message is "Manual Gearbox Release Clutch Petrol". Any one found how to resolve that issue ? Edited February 9 by samir1989
GC2 Posted June 27 Posted June 27 Getting the same issue on Vauxhall Insignia, anyone get to the bottom of this?
Duffy Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago The day I purchased the car release clutch message came on driving on the motorway. It continued to come on now and again only on motorway but stays on beeping until I stop my journey. The car has been back into Arnold Clark 4 times for repair regarding this, the full clutch went and this was replaced 4 months after having the vehicle. We thought this was the reason the error message was displaying. Then the release clutch light appeared again and again. I decided to reject the vehicle, given the many failed repairs and I had proof this was fault on purchase under consumer rights act. 8 months on and I am still stuck with the vehicle, the release clutch error now comes on more frequently basically everytime I am on the motorway. I went for rejection in June through my finance company , there is issues between them the broker and Arnold Clark who are now saying the car is fault free although I have multiple videos photos as evidence to show the release clutch warning. Arnold Clark don’t seem to know why this keeps appearing, neither does the independent mechanic my financial company sent to inspect vehicle. Do you have any ideas? My foot is no where near the clutch when this comes on. Car is Vauxhall Crossland 70 plate. Many thanks
