Hi, I have recently bought the above car. Everything seems fine except for engaging the reverse gear. I have tried to delay engaging with holding the clutch in for a while but it still grates most times. Occasionally it is ok. though. Can anyone give me any idea what the problem may be please. Thanks.

 

You could try to engage first gear and then try reverse gear, if this eases the selection then it is sometimes the best way.

Alternatively, the clutch could be dragging slightly / worn and not able to fully disengage
