August 17, 20205 yr Good evening everyone, I hope this finds you well. My names Danny and I have had my 61 plate Insignia Elite for about 2 years now. I just have one question, can you swap the Bi Xenon headlights for any other headlights? I know they have extra functions but I don't really need them. My drivers side headlight has broken and I'm struggling to find a replacement as people only sell them in pairs for about £500 upwards! Thank you. Danny.
August 19, 20205 yr Hi Danny Xenon HID (High Intensity Discharge) lamps work through with an igniter and specific D type bulbs. They also utilise vehicle height adjuster sensors which alter the headlight beam level to avoid dazzling other motorists when the vehicle changes pitch or load. These cannot easily be fitted to the vehicle retrospectively. However, you could possibly fit later Xenon style headlamps but fit your standard Halogen bulbs into them.
