  1. An update on this fault. It turns out that both O2 sensors needed replacing. Car had a full system check, and only fault that could be found was Lambda sensors (o2). So 2 new ones purchased and now been fitted.
  2. Hi there David. Your fuel consumption doesn't sound too far off. All depends on how you drive too. I have a 1.6 Astra G Auto, and i can get between 40-50mpg. Which like you say, for a vehicle 20+ years old, is good. Mine now has over 230,000 miles on her. Happy motoring.
  3. Hi all, looking for help regarding my daughters boyfriends Zafira 1.8 Elegance. It has had a fault code come up, P0170, fuel trim malfunction. On doing some research, I found that it's a mixture problem. Either too rich, or to lean. What is needed to cure this problem please. Its very erratic on tick over, and when you rev it, the revs are slow to die down. Could the code be the cause. Any advice would be much appreciated. I'm more Astra than zafira. But the owner knows even less. TIA Andy.
  4. Welcome to the forum. Glad to see you've come to the light (vauxhall).
  5. Hi there. I am not sure if there is any difference from the UK to Portugal, but most cars here are OBD 2 compliant since 1996. So your Astra should be ok. I bought a basic OBD 2 reader from a local car shop, and it came with a booklet with what the codes mean. I hope this helps.
  6. Depending on the spark plugs, the gap range is between 0.8-1.0mm. This info I found online at "All Corsa forum". Hope this helps.
  7. Hi Adamt_9 Welcome to the forum. You are in the right place for connecting with Vauxhall owners. There is always someone who is willing to offer a helping hand/advice on any questions you may have regarding your vehicle. Hope you have many miles of trouble free motoring.
  8. Hi John, I've just done a Google search regarding your problem. There is a reset sequence, but some were also saying that it could be a fault where the car and key have lost contact with each other, so will need reprogramming. I am adding picture of the reset sequence. Its got to be worth a try, and I hope it works for you.
  9. Welcome to the forum. If you post your issues on here, there is probably someone that could help solve it. Or give you an idea. What type of issue do you have?
  10. Hi there, I have a petrol automatic, and I always apply handbrake and knock it into neutral whilst waiting at the lights. I was led to believe years ago, that keeping it in gear whilst holding it on the braking system can put strain on the gears, as they obviously want to be driving. I have felt the "bump effect", but i just put it down to not having the revs right. Regards Andy.
  11. Hi there, and welcome to the forum. Hope you are enjoying your Grandland Elite.
  12. Welcome to the forum. Good to hear the feedback on your Zafira. I've heard good reviews from other sources about Zafiras being a great vehicle, and like you said, " does what it says on the tin.."
  13. Sounds like you've got a good car. Look forward to seeing those pictures.
  14. The worst hour ever. But worth it. Here's to another year of Happy motoring.
  15. Well all work done, and now for the dreaded mot, had to give her a nice wash down before I take her.
  16. Hi there, yes I do try to keep the old girl going. I was lucky when I bought her, as she'd been kept by the same family, father to son to father, then I acquired her. So a good service and repair history too. I've been doing bits ready for the dreaded mot, which I am going to try and book tomorrow. Once that's out of the way, I'll be preparing for a cambelt change. I've never done one before, so a little nervous. I am hoping that it isn't too bad a job. Have a feeling I will be doing water pump as well, got a little leak in that area. Wish me luck.
  17. Hi I had this problem with my Astra when I bought it. It turned out to be the Heater Blower Motor Resistor. It was an awkward job to do, but once replaced, all controls were back working as they should. If you have a Haynes manual for your Corsa, it should show you where it is situated. On my Astra, it is at the bottom of the heater motor on the passenger side. It just plugs into the motor casing, and has electrical connection. Hope this helps. Andy.
  18. Hi Vincente, its nice to hear that you chose Vauxhall for your transport. Or is it an Opel? Hope the Zafira serves you well. Regards Andy
  19. Hi Paul, and welcome to the club. Good to hear that you are enjoying your Vauxhall experience. We hope your wife has chose a nice name for the car. Happy motoring. Andy
  20. Well finally got wishbones and both shocks all replaced. A few other little jobs to do, and then I can see about getting an mot booked. Looking all tidy under the front now.
  21. Welcome to the forum, so nice to hear of how people are enjoying their cars. I've had an Astra G auto for the last 4 years, and absolutely love it. Keep up the happy motoring, and stick some pictures on here when you get a chance.
  22. Hi there, is the damage easily fixable, and would it be a cheaper option than replacing whole car?
  23. Wow an Astra F, and i thought my G was getting on a bit. Looking forward to seeing some pictures. And having a recordable history too. Well done for saving it.
