Hello Steve. Welcome to the club. Feel free to post pictures of your car for all to see and admire. Yes as was mentioned in an earlier comment, I have some knowledge on maintenance on the Astra's. I am on my 2nd mk4 Astra, and wish I had got in to them years earlier than I did. I have been doing quite a bit to my beast, which due to its age is just replacing worn out parts. The main thing to do is keep up to date on servicing, and they'll return good mileage back. My Astra is a 1.6 16 valve auto, and has recently hit 242000+ miles, and is 24 years old. Happy motoring.
  5. Thank you for the xmas wishes Trevor. Hope you and your family had a great xmas too. Lets hope 2026 is a great year for the Vauxhall world. Hope you have a wonderful New Year, Andy.
  6. Yeah that's the frightening thing. And I've also found out that I'm the same age as the motorway national speed limit. Not the 70, just the length of time it's been in force.
  7. Well I am only a few years away from a pension. 😀
  8. Ahh. Thats that idea out the window. What are the door rubbers like? Maybe heavy rain is getting in that way. When you looked in engine bay for any leaky pipes. Did you check the coolant level? If that is a bit low then maybe a pipe going to heater .
  9. Do you have a sunroof?? If you do, it might be worth checking the drain holes in the front corners of it to see if they are blocked. These drains normally are routed down the A pillar and can cause water to seep in to the footwear.
  10. Welcome to the group. Feel free to post some pics of your Astra. And if you have any problems, there is always someone who could come up with ideas.
  11. I couldn't agree more with your comment about the Ford wet belt issues. Neighbour had a focus diesel, the wet belt degraded and sent particles of rubber through the oil system, thus slowly killing the engine. Ended up replacing whole engine. So yes get it checked out regularly for piece of mind.
  12. Hi there have you tried ebay? Failing that it might have to be a vauxhall dealership. I have found in the past that ebay has come up trumps on a lot of parts. Some can be high silly prices, but thee are quite a few that are decently priced. Hope this helps. Regards AndyR
  13. Hi all, my son in laws Zafira Elegance is missing the shelf mounts that sit behind the seats, and he wants to fit some to be able to use the parcel shelf. Does anyone have any ideas of where we could possibly get some from please. And what the proper name for them would be. Thanks in advance. AndyR
  14. Hi there and welcome to the group. The 1990 Cavalier SRi is a wonderful car. I owned one back in 2005, but although the mechanics were sound. The body let it down. Needed a lot of welding to the floorpan and chassis rails, so unfortunately it went to scrap. Is yours the 8valve or 16 twin cam? Mine was the 8 valve. There is a page that is for Cavalier owners if you go to the bottom of the opening page.
  15. Hi there, and welcome. Sounds like you have a great car there. Such low mileage too. Why not post some pictures of your Corsa for all to see. And glad you like the group. 😃
