  1. Hi, I keep meaning to say thank you for your advise. We're a bit skint at the moment and the steering isn't playing up (touch wood), so we're saving up and hopefully get it in a garage ASAP. Thanks Ang :-)
  2. Thought I'd introduce myself quickly. 2014 Insignia owner (two or three previous owners), very happy with it overall. Joined up to get help with a specific issue (I'm really not a car person so limited knowledge) but, after reading through some of the threads here, there's clearly a lot of very useful things to explore! I'm not likely to post much, I don't know anything useful about cars to share with you all!
  3. Hi....welcome to the Club some cars are going to be a pain from the beginning (my hate is VW) and are plagued with problems. sometimes you get a good one and sometimes a bad one (Friday - Monday cars). Good to have you onboard and hope you can resolve some of the issues
  4. I'm going on a hunch that the battery may not be up to the job....had similar on an Alfa Romeo and it was a choice between replacing the battery (which the existing one was good enough to run the car) or sit there for a while once the engine had started allowing the battery to recover slightly. See if it does the same thing, rather than turning the steering just let it sit there to see if that still works
  5. I've got a Crossland X and it has started to drink oil, I have always had main dealer service and the wet belt changed last year. I have been quoted over 6k to fix it doing a bit of digging it is my understanding Stellantis extended the warranty on Puretech engines beacuse of this fault
  6. Apologies for the delay, had a busy few weeks, and passed my driving test first time, its not a paddle shift.
  7. I think the first move is to see where you have power going up to the lighter sockets. Using a multimeter or test lamp see voltage what you are getting at the sockets and work your way back through the electrical system from there to establish if there is a break in the circuit somewhere
  8. Hi I have 1.8 8v cavalier MK3 with aw 50-40le auto gearbox. I need to do an oil change as it's dirty but need to know how much it takes as some sites say 3 l with out filter and some say 6l. It has to be done via dipstick hole as it a sealed box so only will do a basic change. Does anyone have this box that can advise. A rust free car with 96000 from new and original radio cassette. Thanks I'm
  9. Hi and welcome to the Club You can pick away the brains but not sure you'll find much 😄 Good to have you onboard!
  10. Same problem here updated after owning the car for a couple of days. To be fair the dealer managed to inspect the unit 3 days later & after consultation with Vauxhall techs have told me the unit is dead. The manufactures warranty on the vehicle runs out on the 30th November 2025 so waiting to find out if the cost will be covered. I have been told the unit itself costs £880 so fingers crossed.
