  2. Hi I have the same problem with my 18 plate Crossland x and owned as a pre reg car from new. My mileage was about 36500 when it started doing same as yours also goes into snail mode, you pull over turn off for a minuet or so and you set off again. At first had oil change but dint solve. Had to take to Vauxhall (pentagon) for diagnostic. They confirmed timing belt and Vauxhall are doing under warranty but i had too jump through hoops for Vauxhall to confirm they paying for it. I had to prove all services where done properly by providing copies of invoices for services done they looking to make sure correct parts and correct grade of oil was used. apparently timing belt is 6 years or 60k i think they said. So check with Vauxhall. However my car went in 19 Feb was supposed to be a 3 day job but is still in there apparently waiting for part to do with Driveshaft so they say. I did originally get a courtesy car which i was supposed to be paying towards insurance so they said. They have waved all cost for courtesy car now which i still have.
  3. Hi Guys, I have 1st Gen 2011 insignia. It has CD400 audio currently. What I'm after is a company or companies that will assist me with the below: - upgrade the stereo, basically a surround system with a sub - interior ambient lighting all round Does anyone has done any of the above?   5. I have a vectra c with z22yh engine, beleive it or not I am having some fuel issues. White smoke, strong smell of fuel, mis firing and undrivable but it occasionally clears and runs fine. I beleive I should have a constant voltage to the injectors and the othe side switched to ground. If I'm right, my first question is what voltage should I have? secondly should this be ignition on or engine running or both. And finaly to clarify this is to battery negative?
  6. Was looking for advice before taking car ro garage. Recently my heating won't blow out hot or cold air I have set to max and nothing comes out I have went into the menu and also set it to max this way still nothing and also nothing when I put on a/c does anyone know why this is? Thanks

  11. Hello all I've tried to find some information on this site but I’ve been unable to. I bought a 2017 Insignia from a dealership 5 weeks ago and within 2 weeks the car had gone into low power mode with the error codes below. The garage has replaced a fuel regulator, but the fault is still there. the model is a 2.0.0 GRAND SPORT SRI VX-LINE NAV P0002 - Fuel volume regulator control - circuit range/performance P0180 - Fuel Temperature Sensor Circuit Malfunction P0380 - Pre Heater, Glow plug control circuit Any advice would be greatly appreciated

I have a 2011 Insignia SRI 2L CDTI, I am looking at doing some modifications styling externally and internal but also looking at some engine modifications and upgrades (cold air intake etc) but seen to have no luck online trying to find stuff! Can anyone recommend any stores online and tell me what you have done! many thanks!

  15. Absolutely spot on, vacuum filled the system, got circulation flow back to the header...ran the motor for about 10 mins then the fan went off...no head damage either!!

  17. I have a 2013 Vauxhall insignia diesel estate I have been told I have a parasitic drain on the Electric PAS Pump and motor . It’s confusing as my power steering is fine. Also I was shocked at the cost of the part my main dealer quoted any help or advice it took a while to track the drain down already had a battery and alternator fitted . So I I hopeful this is it …. But the main dealer quoted £2300 for this repair!

  19. The vacuum kit looks like it should do the job nicely and at least you'll know there is no air left in the system. Check also the thermostat is not stuck closed but you should find that out if you can measure the temperatures before and after the stat with an infrared temp gun (very useful tool for many other jobs on a car - misfire, sticking brakes, etc) Let us know how you get on with it
  20. Sounds like something is obstructing the boot from fully closing and is locked in this position. Is there anyway of accessing the boot from inside the vehicle or even a pullcord somewhere on the rear bulkhead/seat area?
  21. It does sound like turbo bearings have gone and the last thing you want is for the engine to be inducing oil through the turbo - can lead to a runaway engine! If they can guarantee their diagnosis of the turbo being defective then unfortunately it's a case of biting the bullet and getting it done
  22. Hi everyone. I hope someone can help/advise. Please excuse my “non-mechanic/technical” explanation but I’ve got better knowledge of quantum physics than I have of engines. I bought an Insignia 2.0 CDTi SRi 2011 through AutoTrader (private seller - yeah, I know, lesson learnt!!!) and within a day had it in the garage. I found that when going over 40 it massively lacked power. It would get to 60/70mph but took a while. I was told that when I took it in to them, an air inlet hose had been removed from the turbo (their guess was by the previous owner) which was creating the problem. But when they reattached the hose oil would pass straight through the turbo and out of the exhaust - due to worn bearings????. I don’t recall seeing smoke come from the exhaust. They had to refill the oil after taking it for a 2 mile test drive. They quoted me £1000+ to replace the turbo. When driving I can’t hear any unusual noises etc. What’s your thoughts? Does the problem seem to be what they described or could it be something a lot simpler/worse? I’ll try to answer any questions but I apologise in advance if I don’t understand the question or for my non-technical answers. Thank you.
  23. An update on this fault. It turns out that both O2 sensors needed replacing. Car had a full system check, and only fault that could be found was Lambda sensors (o2). So 2 new ones purchased and now been fitted.

Engine light came on went into limp mode came up with p0299 checked map sensor was fifthly clean it didn't make no difference brought new map sensor worked for 10 mins went back into limp mode with same fault checked air filter incase was dirty no issues there so was thinking might be gas waste exhaust valve.. anyone got any other idea's on issue .. thanks
