Manual Gearbox Release Clutch Pedal message on Dash Board
No I'm definitely not resting my foot on the pedal. It happens only in wet conditions at 55mph. It then beeps every 10 seconds and even stopping and switching the car off does not resolve it. They have replaced the sensor twice and the clutch too and still the issue persists.

Hi - new member just wanted to say hello
Welcome to the club Jane . Your car sounds far too lovely to chuck away just because a mechanic can't be bothered to resolve your issue . Perhaps a car electrician might be a good port of call? All the same all the best with it and when you get a mo post a photo of your car. Steve

Hi - new member just wanted to say hello
Hi just joined - didnt know club existed - we have Astra Convertible Bertone 2005 (and Antara 2013) have problems at the moment and mechanics just say too old - get rid !- the convertible had for 13 years been great but now have problem outside door handle not working all electrics and locking working and can open from inside manually (windows drop down naturally when opening - part of roof mechanism) mechanic tried to fix and done damage to the panel - just said get new car - really helpful!) we need an outer handle pull rod which has a small plastic clip which we think is the actual problem) according to vauxhall who have told us the part numbers and who recommended to get in contact with you guys as you may have advice on where we can get one and how to actually fit it, greatful for any ideas - as seem such a small thing to have to get rid of car for but is automatic mot failure. Thank you

Is there any chance that you are resting your foot on the clutch pedal even just slightly

Leak in boot
I would use a smoke generator to instantly find the source of the leak eBay link here Smoke Generator Ideal for finding exactly where water is entering

If you would like to put this out to the club as you both live in the same region (Suffolk/Norfolk) and if enough members are interested then we can promote it and then get a club stand if you want?

Manual Gearbox Release Clutch Pedal message on Dash Board
Hi, very odd problom, with so much computers and software and sensors etc in modern cars it's difficult to resolve issues , one would have thought this issue would have arisen in development and either dealt with then of a fix found . All the best with a solution mate , even if they do end up owing you a new car.

Manual Gearbox Release Clutch Pedal message on Dash Board
I'm having the same issue with a 71 plate crossland that I bought September 25. It only happens in wet conditions at around 55mph when going into 5th gear. In that period the car has been back for at least a month on and off where the sensor was replaced, then the clutch with another new sensor and still the release clutch message appears under the conditions above. The car is under warranty luckily but the still have the car and can't figure it out. I'm at the point now where I'm fed up as I have a car that I cannot drive above 50mph with out the problem occurring. I have said to them if there's no resolve I am wanting a refund or an exchange for another car. If they can't figure it out who can ?

Paint chips
@AndyR hows the old Astra's paintwork ? You're definitely close enough to drop by SteveH for a paint repair.

Paint chips
I was exaggerating about paint chips on my car (BMW Z3) it needs a complete respray but as the panels unbolt it would be cheaper to replace them completely with good condition second hand panels - in fact I could even change the colour completely depending on whats out there breaking at the time Very kind offer though - much appreciated
-
Noise from front suspension
Thank you very much. The car has done 62,000 miles. I think that may be when issues like worn CV joints start occuring plus the roads in this area are absolutely full of deep potholes which obviously doesn't help

Paint chips
Lol Mate I'd be happy to sort out your scratches and paint chips and of course that extends to any and every member of this club .

- How to remove cigarette lighter socket from meriva b 2015?
It should be tags (metal clips on the lighter assembly) that would need pushing in to release the lighter - most cigar lighters are the same dimensions so you can pick up a charging port from Halfords for less than a tenner- Noise from front suspension
Hi Gary, welcome to the Club Initially it sounds like a worn CV (Constant Velocity) Joint is causing the sound. Usually only one side makes a noise but both may be worn to the same level, especially if the rubber gaiter is split and allowing the grease to escape and dirt to enter the joint. See if you can pop it into a garage for them to evaluate it and replace the joint (only the outer joint and not a new shaft as cheaper) as necessary depending on what they find- Paint chips
I'll drive my car up to you when you've mastered it :-)- G’day and seeking oil filter.
a bit different engine from the one in my old PA Cresta (Jaguar V12) so can't offer any advice but SteveH has put some great info above - I'm sure there are still plenty of suppliers in the UK that still hold stock of NOS parts- How to remove cigarette lighter socket from meriva b 2015?
The question is how does 1 remove this socket to fit a new one. I managed to get the 1 at the back of this console in passengers centre footwell are removed. A vauxhall insignia is the same cigarette socket. Any info how to get this 1 out?- G’day and seeking oil filter.
Hi Vicki And welcome to our club I found this information online , I hope it might be if some help to you and your car oil filter for 1960 cresta +4 For a 1960 Vauxhall Cresta (PA model), the correct oil filter is typically a cartridge-type (insert) filter, often referenced by part number FF36 or CH837PL. These filters are designed for older Vauxhall 6-cylinder engines, which used a canister-style housing, unlike later screw-on filters. Recommended Filters for 1960 Cresta (PA): Flexolite FF36: A commonly cited replacement for classic Vauxhalls. Fram CH837PL: A suitable filter insert. MANN-FILTER H 1018/2 n: Another compatible filter insert. Important Notes: Filter Type: These are filter elements/inserts that go inside the canister, usually supplied with new sealing gaskets. Verification: Always check your specific engine's filter housing to ensure the insert matches, as some older vehicles may have been converted to modern spin-on filters. Availability: These filters can be found through classic car parts specialists, such as Flexolite or Stafford Vehicle Components. - How to remove cigarette lighter socket from meriva b 2015?
