AndyR started following Astra GTE Convertible and Fuel

That does make me wonder at times, as it is only down to the refinement of the fuel. I could understand it if it was like it used to be with the 4 star leaded and unleaded. And you had the 2 star for mowers and mopeds. But now I use E10 in my mower as well. I don't know how my 1982 Datsun is going to fair with E5 or E10 though. When leaded was done away with, I just adjusted the carb and timing. Didn't even need to have new valve seats either. But thats a project for the near future.

Hi Vauxhall Zafira 2016 2.0 litre diesel Orange engine warning light came on a few weeks ago, ODB scanner came back with adblue sensor error: Reductant Level Sensor Invalid Range - Engine Control Moule (ECM). DTC Code P1050 Took it to a garage in Clydebank area, all they did was add some adblue to tank (which it didn't need) and cleared the error code. A week later it came back. I can clear it, but it comes back next time car is started. I read this could be due to wring / corrosion issues, so took it to garage specialising in car electrics. He took one look at the above error, said it was unlikely to be wiring, said he'd never seen that error on a Zafira before, and advised me to look into the costs of replacing the whole adblue pump/tank assembly. I'm hoping I don't need to pay to replace the whole brand new adblue assembly because it looks eye-wateringly expensive - Arnold Clark Vauxhall in Garscube Road quoted £3500 for new adblue tank, pump and control unit. That is insanely expensive. There's plenty of adblue in the tank and im getting no other errors. The above error, based on what I have learned, concerns the adblue level sensor, which, along with the adblue temperature sensor, is built into the adblue tank. In other words, those two sensors are NOT sold separately. I've bought a used adblue tank assembly, going into garage this coming week, can only hope everything functioning in this assembly. Cheers J

Hi everyone, I've only just joined, wanted to say hello. Also, don't know if anyone can help. Got an 2008 vectra c 1800 vvt. Need a driver's seat, half leather stitched beading. Seems to be harder to get than gold dust! Hopefully there's one out there somewhere.

electrics Power to radio at ignition position 1
scratchabout replied to scratchabout's topic in Vauxhall Meriva Club
Finally got to Halfords... They have an 'ISO Harness CT20VX04' for aftermarket radio in a 05-10 Meriva. It will take power as per the factory fitted radio. It does not connect to the steering wheel controls. Costs £25. As commented in the original post I already have an aftermarket radio and the steering wheel controls operate the radio. Halfords person suggested splicing the current red power cable to one that provides power to the fuse/cable that runs the windows, sunroofs and wing mirrors. Could not see any issue with a further 5amp load on the fuse. That is the route I had in mind but had concerns about the 'Body Control Module'. Seems the concerns are unfounded. One day I will get to play around with the wires in the car :0) Thank you for your input. -
Please see faults below and picture of sensor/module im unsure of I've changed camshaft sensor. Any ideas will be greatly recieved. T.I.A INSIGNIA SRI NAV CDTI ECOFLEX S/S 20250909_141415.heic 20250909_130354.heic 20250909_130356.heic

Hi there. We all sometimes wonder where our previous vehicles have ended up, So don't think that you are being too sentimental. I sometimes wish I still had my 2.8i Capri, but times move on. According to the DVLA website, your 1989 Blue Astra was still on the road legally, until January 2006, and the last change of log book was later that month on the 16 January 2006. We can only hope that someone has parked it up in there garage for a while and intend to get it back out on the road at some point. Fingers crossed.

Is that the one that also gives the outside temperature reading? It is in middle of front bumper behind the bottom grille.

Greetings. I removed the standard radio on my 2007 Tigra and when I put it back it now reads ‘display safe’ I don’t have the radio code to remove it. What can I do? Thanks idthegurkha

The ambient air sensor is on the front bumper (look up inside the bumper for a sensor with wiring around the intake slots lower down. Had one in the workshop once that was drinking fuel at an alarming rate - I tested it on a scantool and noticed that it was reading -41 degrees centigrade which would explain why it was running rich at those freezing temperature.

Hi, Owner of a 2014 Astra GTC 1.4L petrol. It looks like my water pump has broken. I found a leak and I've heard it squeaking and getting worse. Has anyone changed one and know how involved it is? PXL_20250903_134514794.mp4

It sure is a benefit of regular maintenance. As for your point about the coolant sensor and the ambient sensor, I changed the coolant sensor about 6-7 months ago, but I don't know if I have an ambient sensor. Where would this be situated please?, and I'll have a look.

I ran my Astra on E5 to start with, and it didn't seem to happy. Was quite spluttery at times. Went over to the E`10, and she runs like a dream. And i can get an average 45-50 mpg. 1.6 16 valve automatic with 141000 miles, and 23 years old.
