  2. Coming late to the party, but unless you sorted it out, I got the Topdon AD600 from Ebay for £139, has loads of options and lifetime updates, not to mention you can use it on other brands as well, unlike other companies which sell them with car-specific coding (though to be fair those may pick up on more specific codes)

  4. So there we were parked up at the supermarket and I casually mentioned to the wife how the car might look even better lowered by 2inchs , she made "that face" and replied " you lower that car and I'm leaving you" just because I've modded a few cars in the past to get better stance and improved handling, might just lea e ot as it is then !

Hiya,is this meeting on again in Suffolk in 2026? It's close by I'd love to come along.
  6. Hiya, after my first night time drive last might in my 2011 Astra I felt the lights were not as bright as my previous lease car which was 2022 though I don't like the annoying trend for dazzling headlights that seems to be prevalent. I will try a set of those Halfords bulbs though, a little more light can only help.

  8. Hello, just completed our first might time drive in the car from London back to suffolk. Car was lovely well mannered and despite it taking me 2 full minutes before we set off to work out how to turn the headlights on!! ( I know, let me have it chaps ) and a 20 min traffic jam on the M25 car behaved perfectly , though we couldn't stop the heater getting the cabin very warm, no matter what setting we tried, but this is from a man who didn't k ow how to turn the headlights on ,a bit of manual swotting should sort that. Very pleased with this car so far.
  9. Back doors child lock on all the time the button on door makes no difference on startup CHILD SAFETY ACTIVE comes up on dash. Any help much appreciated by this ancient newbie
  10. Hello, I have recently brought a insignia 2011 2.0 CDTI Elite Nav. I have an issue with some warnings service AFL LAMP and both check dipped beams plus headlamp levelling malfunction the thing is it has halogen bulbs so I have taken it for a diagnostic scan and the error is Lin bus malfunction U1501:00 and a dozen U codes with numbers also. Do I have the correct headlights in my vauxhall? It does have Auto lights switch which is why im so confused that the type of headlights it has. Any help is much appreciated David
  11. I bought my Mokka last summer. I successfully managed one software & map update, but this one gets stuck: "Opel Update" software downloads OK software update downloads massive map update gets part way & stops - at roughly the same place each time Any thoughts? Is it possible to get the map update in sections or something? I have a reasonable "fibre to the cabinet" internet connection - no problem streaming several videos at once, for example, or participating in online meetings without a glitch.
  12. Hi, Last summer I bought an approved second hand electric Mokka. I'm joining to ask questions - which I hope I'll post in the relevant forums! Peter, south coast England

  17. What a shame. Decent Vectras are very hard to come by, especially high-spec V6 models. It’s unfortunate I didn’t come across your post sooner, the search continues! Thanks for your response. Have a nice weekend.

  19. Purchase a 21 plate grandland x with just over 7100 miles in 2024 drove to Bournemouth and back in June 24 and oil light came on Purchase oil from dealership and topped it up. June 25 drove to Bournemouth again and on my way home oil light came on took it to the dealership and they did an oil consumption test cane back fine (they said) Dec 25 oil light came back on Service done aug did another oil consumption test and said using more oil than they like . I use my car every day for work and can do anything from 20 -50 miles per shift (care worker) plus my daughter does Cheerleading and I drive to Manchester at least once a week and to completions . just spoketo customer service opend a case with them so that the dealership i purchase from can take a look at it as they said the Warranty Clark has said Vauxhall will not except them (the service history as not done at Vauxhall) for us you will have to put your case to Vauxhall customer services

  22. Hi, welcome to the club. Halfords sell upgraded bulbs that would be a direct fit and will instantly improve visibility...they can even fit them for you so you would be able to see the difference against the standard one
  23. Crikey! that's a punchy engine - the 2.3 Magnum was a real powerhouse and not much could challenge that engine (and car) back in the day (when Vauxhall were heavily into motorsport) Totally agree, you will find out how well (or bad) the car has been built and you can add mods to it as you go along.
  24. Well that's a very good start and you have more patience than I do for those types of repairs. Look forward to seeing the end results once the rest of the materials arrive

  26. Sadly I had to dispose of this car as I had no responses for many months, then one day when running it smoke came pouring out of the engine bay. Probably alternator. Can't see how to take the advert down on this site.
  27. Appreciate the optimism, I really do, but I can't start because I don't know where to start, I simply can't find any schematics or sheets or whatever detailing how to get to the throttle body. Not a mechanic, but would go for the job if I had some support (sheets, schemes etc). Does anyone know where these could be brought/accessed? I tried looking for Crossland workshop manuals, bought the online Haynes manual which is not that detailed, but I can't find a proper workshop/service manual, not even to buy online. Any support would be appreciated.

  29. Wow, that looks a really fun car, I owned a GTM spyder for a while withe 1.8VVT engine and it was built by a Lotus engineer so it was better tha many I'd seen, but sometimes a tear down and reassemble is the best way to get the car the way you would want it. Have fun and all the best with it.
  30. Finally had a spare 90 mins today to get work started on my paint chips , previous owner or dealer had touched a few chips in with touch up pen , but it was wrong colour of red ! And also there are some chips, small but thru to the white primer , so today (pics below) I cleaned the chips and rubbed down the wrong colour paint with Isopropyl and 600 grit wet and dry , and will now leave the new paint I touched in to dry and harden and when I get home at the weekend the papers up to 5000 grit and the polish and pads I ordered will have arrived and I can add more coats and cut and polish the paint in a bit better . More pics to follow at rhe weekend when I get to do stage 2 of this job. Pictures are before and after touch up and 600 grit sanding.
  31. I have recently bought a 2019 Astra SRI and find the factory headlights poor Is there any upgrade
  32. It does sound like the heater blower motor resistor pack which controls the speed of the blower fan - if that has blown then the only time it usually works in on full speed as there are no resistors in line for the fastest speed
  33. Hi, I have a Grandland X 68 plate, petrol. The blower/ac has stops working every now and again. It stops for a few weeks and then starts again: When it stops, there is nothing that comes out at all, the lights still work on the controls for it. Anyone had the same issues? Thanks in advance.

  35. Hiya Not managed to do a thing yet sadly , all of a sudden work has got very busy, on weds morning I'm hoping to send and clean the marks and fill with paint and then colour cut at the weekend. I promise to post progress photos as I go along.
