  2. It's a while ago you posted this. I have the same with a 2011 Insignia. Only the driver's door will open but only with the key. Neither fob or the controls inside the car will open the doors, not even if there is a clonking sound. Sometimes it clonks, sometimes it clicks and either way the doors remain locked. Tried disconnecting the battery and resetting ECU & the first time, that worked, but not the second. It is intermittent. Sometimes it works perfectly. Sometimes starting the engine will get the inside controls clonking but the doors don't open. Many clonks later, they will. Did it remain fixed for you? Most problems return just after you are sure they are fixed.
  3. vacuum leak, sticking throttle, many reasons it could be....needs scanning to get a more accurate diagnosis
  4. some lovely models which I can't remember the last time I would have seen one of the on the road
  5. another array of fine machines, especially love the pick up trucks! I remember having a Ford Popular, same as the Anglia in the last photo which had vacuum wipers and if you accelerated or went up a hill they virtually stopped but down the other side they then went so fast the blades almost fell off
  6. what a lovely collection of fine machines....luckily it looks like you had nice weather which is a bonus
  7. The trouble is its so hard to tell what the weather is going to be in the UK so therefore choosing temperature related oil weights is a pure guessing game. Hotter countries used to change between 'weights' (viscosity) from summer to winter and vice versa. Nowadays the oil weight is structed to be variable between temperature ranges More importantly than anything is the suitability (ACEA, SAE ratings, etc) which are crucial to engine wear and protection. Ensure it is correct and weight is not as important
  8. Any suitable shampoos from Halfords would do and the staff are usually quite knowledgable about the various ones
  9. Hi Its hard to tell the modifications which have been made and only by putting it on a dyno to test run it and provide power output readings will give you the answer You are welcome to advertise it through the For Sale section of the forums if you want to
  10. Has anyone managed to find a fix for this? When warning lights came on we took it to a garage, however on way there lights went off, mechanic plugged in fault finder, no faults showed up either present or previous. Unfortunately lights have came back on again. Release clutch, hill start assist fault, tyre pressure not monitored, abs fault amongst others
  11. if the fan is working on the highest speed then it is a faulty resistor pack which alters the fan speed If not working at all then more than likely the motor....try thumping it from under the dash when the blower is switched on and if working then brushes are worn out and need new motor...cheap and relatively easy to fit
  12. HI John, welcome to the Club Luckily Corsa mechanical and service parts are in abundance and at low cost so mechanically it won't take a lot to get up to scratch Body panels and trim, well not sure but may find cheap parts new or otherwise secondhand parts may be suitable Good luck with it all and let us know how you get on with it all

  16. Hey Andy, yes I saw that the code relates to power steering and suspected the battery, I took it back to the dealership garage after jump starting it, just a bit baffled that they didn't find any issue with it and it's happened 3 times now in a week??!!
  17. Hi everyone. Don’t know if anyone can help but hopefully someone can. I’ve recently bought a 2015 Meriva 1.4 se petrol auto and just wondering if it has a cam belt or chain. It’s only done about 35k but obviously nearly 10 years old, so even if it’s chain then will it need replacing because of its age ? Thanks in advance.
  18. Cuts out doesn't over heat no codes no nothing but still keeps cutting out. Looks like it's had new ECU or reconditioned, loads of sensors been replaced but the looks of it but I don't know where to start. Any ideas
  19. Hi there, A Viva HA, not many of those about. Stick some pictures up on here, and show us your car. As regarding fuel gauge, it may be worth seeing if you can remove the sender unit from the tank to see if it's sticking. If that seems ok, then maybe check wiring to the fuel gauge. Look forward to seeing pictures, and hope i have been helpful. Regards Andy.
  20. Hi George, welcome to the forum. Nice to see someone local to me joining us. Hope you enjoy your Insignia. Regards Andy.
  21. Hi there 1micky2. There is a fuse box in the engine bay beside the nearside headlight, and there is also one that is in the glovebox behind a panel on the left. Apparently both fuse boxes contain a fuse for the heater blower motor. If you have the cars handbook, it should show which fuse is the one you need to check. Hope this has been helpful. Regards Andy.
  22. Yes a loose pressure cap means the coolant will boil at a lower temperature.
