  2. Hi, Was wondering if anybody could help. I've got a Vectra 2.6 GSi V6 that wants quite abit of work doing on it. Think the engine will have to come out for ease of replacing parts. My local garage cant help so was wondering if anybody knew a good Vauxhall specialist or garage around the Derby area that would take the task on. Many Thanks.
  3. Hi, I have the same model/spec and had nothing but bother with all electrics. Same problem with boot. The car has been back at dealership since June and been told parts on back order! It seems to be a common problem with this car. Hopefully you get yours sorted soon.
  4. It may be easier to remove the front bumper as its not that hard to take off. Just make sure you have a blanket on the floor in front so the paint doesn't get marked if you drop it.

  6. I would say it is not unrelated as the aux belt will be turning the alternator pulley which in turn charges the battery so its a knock on effect - you will need to ensure the charging system is working properly before looking at any other faults
  7. well at least you have a couple of options now. Good luck with it all and let us know how you get on with it
  8. I would say that unless it is excessively smoking and it is clearly engine oil being burnt (oily exhaust pipe at the tail end) and the oil level is dropping then it may be a case of running it in until the rings bed in. Ensure that it is running the correct grade of oil and also run it on Supreme fuel which does make a difference.
  9. maybe individual seals are available but otherwise if it is water ingress into the box then maybe silicon would be best to seal it - probably more effective and cheaper than new seals
  10. Hi @JayBee Welcome to the club Good to have you onboard !
  11. I would look on eBay to see if there are any available https://www.vauxhallownersclub.com/forums/index.php?app=core&module=system&controller=redirect&do=advertisement&ad=14&key=bf150e77c2c9100d0b9bba1b6bec636361396ad8842ba5936721c270c2221ece

  15. having similar problem using main dealer and getting no where now suggest a piston ring clean. The pcv valve has been replaced under the 10yr warranty but they say it doesnt cover anything else.
  16. Using a Smoke Generator to fill the car with smoke and see from where it is coming out of the car - and there is your leak :-) Ebay Link
  17. Hi, I keep meaning to say thank you for your advise. We're a bit skint at the moment and the steering isn't playing up (touch wood), so we're saving up and hopefully get it in a garage ASAP. Thanks Ang :-)
  18. Have you checked all wiring to all sensors as a break in a wiring could cause this issue - see if it happens when the engine is running and you 'wiggle' the wires going to sensors and actuators
  19. Apologies for the delay, had a busy few weeks, and passed my driving test first time, its not a paddle shift.
  20. I can see what you are up against as so much conflicting information out there on the type of autoboxes that are available. If it were me I would clean the exterior of the areas I would be working in (e.g. bottom and side of the box. Warm the engine up but not too hot as the fluid could scold when being drained. With a drain tray underneath let the fluid drain into it and try not to lose any as you will have to measure the quantity of old fluid. If there haven't been any leaks then what comes out is what should be in there. Ensure you have plenty of fluid to fill the box and top up over the next few days. If you remove the sump or side cover then fit a new filter and gasket(s) and see how it goes after that. Also examine the fluid for colour and particles (metal, fibre, etc) and if it smells of burnt toast then the fluid has been heated by wear on the clutch plates.
  21. Same problem here updated after owning the car for a couple of days. To be fair the dealer managed to inspect the unit 3 days later & after consultation with Vauxhall techs have told me the unit is dead. The manufactures warranty on the vehicle runs out on the 30th November 2025 so waiting to find out if the cost will be covered. I have been told the unit itself costs £880 so fingers crossed.
  22. sorry, no I don't know but it would certainly worth trying them up for size if you could find the doors
  23. have you checked the boost sensor on the slam panel well know for making the noise you describe
  24. Damn display screen loaded as normal this morning, and again after a few restarts. No clue why the screen went black for a day or so.
  25. If it is just an O ring then I would go to a hardware or hydraulics store which should sell them but ensure they are black in colour as if they are any other colour it could mean they are made of Viton or some other material that is heat resistant. Maybe also worth applying some sealant or grease prior to fitting
  26. hi there thanks for that I will look it the things u said . there no water leak as fare as I can bin all over the engine with a tuch. no water .thank u for a your help.
