I recently bought a Meriva (2013) and it had an issue with the immobiliser yesterday. I had driven a short distance and it wouldn’t restart. Jump start etc not effective. Eventually discovered that disconnecting the battery reset the immobiliser and the car started immediately. I have since googled and apparently this is a known fault! Has anyone come across this and if so what do I do to prevent it recurring? The car battery is low quality and may need replaced. Is that likely to help? I have replaced the battery in the fob (although the previous one was still working ) thanks

Hi, Does anyone know if the front brake calipers on a 98 2.5 petrol V6 are the same as any other Vauxhall model (or even another make)? Very few second hand and new ones are more than twice the price of a pair for my 2007 Volvo V70!!! Thank you, Ian

On the B20DTH engine the camshaft chain and tensioner was severely worn. On replacement I timed the camshafts to the dots and marked the camshaft sprocket (belt end). Whilst trying to undo the cam chain sprocket bolt (whilst holding the nut shaped flat on the cam) the bolt didn't undo, but the camshaft moved and the spanner holding the nut shaped flats didn't. All marks still line up again. Is this an issue? Would timing be affected. I was under the impression the camshaft was one piece and this couldn't happen.

Good afternoon, Is anybody interested in buying a Vauxhall Carlton GI 1987 mileage around 104,600 miles? The insurance wrote it off in 2000, but my husband restored it and drove it until 2024. It has had MOT and he looked after it. Kind regards, MB

Multiple warnings on dash
parky_87 replied to Tait1983's topic in Vauxhall Crossland & Grandland X Club
Hey all! Little update on how mines gone... Took to Vauxhall Garage in Bolton and they said the diagnostic showed a rear left wheel sensor issue. They checked and couldn't see anything so had to remove the adblue tank to check the wiring all down the left side. Apparently they found a split in the cable so that had to be replaced and all the lights vanished. The lane assist came back to life, cruise control, hill assist etc. So good all! Now 4 weeks later I've had the engine light come on saying "engine fault seek repair" and then 2 days later "emissions fault - car won't start in 700 miles" So seems we've fixed one problem and potentially caused another by not re-fitting the adblue tank properly?? For those having all the warning lights, I'd highly recommend getting the wiring checked out as that seems to have put all the things that stopped working back to rights. -

I need the extra space and just folding them don't give me the room I need. Vauxhall them selves can't help me. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you From Sean.

Hello everyone. Well my astra passed mot today. Only problem was that when the garage backed it out at the end of the test. The speedo cluster has stopped working again. So later I'm going to pull it apart again to see what's occurring.

Just bought a 2007 Tigra to do auto testing in for a bit of a laugh. I was aware of the roof not opening along with the boot as well on purchase hence why the car was cheap. Rest of the car is in really good working order. The car does it's standard faulty beeping noise when first taking off which isn't a issue on a long journey but during an auto test when you stop and start alot it's becoming a tad annoying Not bothered about roof ever going down but was wondering if simple removal of certain fuse will at least stop the constant beeping when I'm competing. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi, everyone. Could anyone reading this please help ? I just been outside to change my rear shocks, once removed I discovered that all four ,top and bottom parts that hold the actual springs in are completely rusted away and nothing but rust flakes ! Can anyone advise where, and if I can buy and replace these ? Also what are they called ? The car is a 2001 estate and far to good to scrap. I would greatly appreciate any help/ advice that anyone can offer. Being a 74 year old disabled person, I'm sure that you understand just how much I need my car. Many thanks in advance for any help, information, informing me whether on not it is possible to buy the parts required . Kind regards, Kevin.

The battery in my 2012 Insignia 2.0 CDTi keeps going flat. It was only during winter that would happen at first, I had to go out & start/run my car for about 30 minutes every other day to keep the battery charged (when I wasn't using it everyday due to working from home). Now it's doing it no matter what the weather is like. I've checked the parasitic drain on the battery & it seems very high (at 3 - 5 amps) with the ignition off & the key in my pocket. There were three piggyback fuses for some things (one of them I had fitted for a dashcam, two seemed to be dealer installations), I disconnected all the piggybacks & checked the drain again - no change. Any ideas please?

My 2018 Grandland x 1.2 turbo is drinking oil, there does not appear to be an oil leak but I have to constantly top up the oil. It has now reached a point where the engine light comes on and after putting a litre and a half of oil in it is still showing no.oil on the dipstick. I pay for a warranty £50 a month but have been told the engine needs to be taken apart and if it's a warranty issue it will be dealt with but if not I have to pay for it myself. Has anybody else had any issues like this and if so what was your course of action please I feel like I'm being fobbed of and robbed.
