  7. Has anyone had to use the stellantis warranty for excessive use of oil. I had a new pcv valve fitted under this warranty but didn't cure the problem. Dealer now suggests a piston ring clean ( using an addative in the oil that doesn't effect the cam belt ) at a cost of £500. This they say is not covered as it is a procedure. Trying to find a number to check if this correct isn't easy. Anyone had a similar problem .
  8. I've just been stung for £1400.00 for a wet belt replacement after 27000 miles and 4 years old. I am going through vauxhall customer care (stanallis ?) and anticipating a fight

  13. I seen them on ebay, it also shows a wee spring, but mine must have took off when the button went !!! loads on ebay
  14. I guess as long as it is still running fine and its purely maintenance tasks then it should be straightforward for a skilled mechanic to carry this out. Maybe even with the engine in situ - have you considered a mobile mechanic who can work on it a your premises...may be cheaper as well?
  15. Hi, I have the same model/spec and had nothing but bother with all electrics. Same problem with boot. The car has been back at dealership since June and been told parts on back order! It seems to be a common problem with this car. Hopefully you get yours sorted soon.
  16. I would say it is not unrelated as the aux belt will be turning the alternator pulley which in turn charges the battery so its a knock on effect - you will need to ensure the charging system is working properly before looking at any other faults
  17. well at least you have a couple of options now. Good luck with it all and let us know how you get on with it
  18. I would say that unless it is excessively smoking and it is clearly engine oil being burnt (oily exhaust pipe at the tail end) and the oil level is dropping then it may be a case of running it in until the rings bed in. Ensure that it is running the correct grade of oil and also run it on Supreme fuel which does make a difference.
  19. maybe individual seals are available but otherwise if it is water ingress into the box then maybe silicon would be best to seal it - probably more effective and cheaper than new seals
  20. Hi @JayBee Welcome to the club Good to have you onboard !

  24. having similar problem using main dealer and getting no where now suggest a piston ring clean. The pcv valve has been replaced under the 10yr warranty but they say it doesnt cover anything else.
  25. Using a Smoke Generator to fill the car with smoke and see from where it is coming out of the car - and there is your leak :-) Ebay Link
  26. Hi, I keep meaning to say thank you for your advise. We're a bit skint at the moment and the steering isn't playing up (touch wood), so we're saving up and hopefully get it in a garage ASAP. Thanks Ang :-)
  27. Have you checked all wiring to all sensors as a break in a wiring could cause this issue - see if it happens when the engine is running and you 'wiggle' the wires going to sensors and actuators
  28. Apologies for the delay, had a busy few weeks, and passed my driving test first time, its not a paddle shift.
