  2. How did you get on with it - any conclusion as to the cause ? Possibility it could be a mechanical issue but without testing that is hard to determine
  3. that sounds more like gummed up vanes within the turbo - you could try a cleaner to see if that makes a difference - cheapest way to start and then give it an Italian Tune-up to clear the excess carbon from the engine. But if there is excess carbon on the turbo variable vanes and the plugs are contaminated with oil I would believe it may be a little more serious. A cylinder leak test would reveal if there is any wear or damage to a particular cylinder or valves - an easy test but may struggle to find a garage that has one or knows how to use it effectively to diagnose the issue
  4. I would normally search through eBay first and see if other models such as Carlton may have same part numbers
  5. According to this Google search, it appears it may be integrated inside the Engine ECU - worth checking hoses and electrical connections to and from the ECU

  13. Anyone know what they call the water outlet from the cylinder head which has the vacuum pump attached is called. this is on my 2010 2ltr cdti sports tourer. also, where can I get a new metal gasket for this unit as mine leaks like a sieve after the thermostat opens. It’s not coming from the vacuum pump as some u tube videos suggest. I have back flushed the rad, engine block and heater matrix and have no other leaks. Any body got 5 litres of unleaded and a match maybe. Suggestions please.
  14. Hi, Sorry, not sure of exact wiring, had to get a auto electrician to sort it. It was identified at the rear wheel drivers side. I had this for months, so a relief this sorted it out.
  15. Well I removed the throttle body and gave it a good dowsing of carb cleaner. It was very Carboned up below the butterfly. I'm going to give the EGR a clean out too. And hopefully it will be a good cure.

  18. one or the other may be options for different applications - if you can't find somewhere for them both to go then replace the one with the most suitable gasket
  19. if it is still under warranty then I would pop in to see your local dealer and see what they can do about resolving the issue
  20. air conditioning generally dumps quite a bit of water under the car near to the rear of the engine. if you smell it and there is no odour, then it is the air con doing its thing - if it smells of coolant (strong chemical smell) then it may be a coolant leak which is more unlikely - if it smells of dog wee then it probably is (don't ask how i know this)
  21. found this on a forum which may be a way forward
  22. Have the same issue with a Nissan Juke and was thinking of using a silicon to pack out the wear in the plastic bush - nothing to lose if it stiffens it up - got to be replaced anyway I guess
  23. it would be worth taking to a tow bar specialist as the electrics will be tapped into the CanBus electronics and will more than likely need the car programming to accept the modifications
  24. my esp keeps comeing on can anyone till me what it is and how to put it right
  25. Just joined and need some information please. I have a 2011 manual Insignia and cannot distinguish whether it has Bluetooth or not.
  26. Hi all, I'm new here. Have a 72 plate vauxhall Corsa design 5 door 1.2. I've had just over a month and the dealership I got it from said there was a rattle behind dash but despite removing some of it they were unable to see anything and advise to get book it in with a vauxhall garage. Does anyone know whats causing this? If it is under warranty and if not a rough price range to get it fixed. The garage said if it under warranty I'd need to pay £156 for the diagnostic. Also I get a humming type of sound when I've started the car from cold. They advised they couldn't hear anything I hear it every time. Grant
  27. Hi all new member I have a growing concern regarding this wet belt scenario I feel that it is time extreme pressure in some way should be applied to Vauxhall and other manufacturers to get rid of this wet belt whoever thought that this was a good idea I know other manufacturers use it as well as we will find out soon the cars for example bought on PCP of which more and more drivers seem to be going down that road will on average trade in after 4/5 years which means a lot of people buying second are going to experience this wet belt due for replacement not knowing this and continuing driving it with problems arising the average cost of replacing a wet belt is £1000 + where as a timing belt was on average £200 plus there a very few garages willing to tackle the wet belt replacement because of the amount of work on it I think vauxhall should either consider converting back to the timing belt or replace the existing cars with a chain that won’t deteriorate I think it is shocking that the motoring industry thought this was a good idea very poor show VAUXHALL & others Kenny L

  28. Hi, I have, 10 weeks ago purchase the same car, private purchase. The car has done 24,000. 6 weeks ago, I had to spent £3000 on new turbo, vacuum pump & solenoid. Now I have been told I need a new engine as the craft shaft is knackered. The car is out of warrantee but only 4 1/2 years old and super low mileage. Did you get anywhere with the ombudsman? Many thanks
