  2. I have a 2019 Grandland x 1.2 puretech. And yes it does use oil. I was told that its because the piston rings aren't as tight to the cylinder wall. Apparently this is to reduce friction therfore using slightly more oil but that is excessive. Was there a lot of smoke coming out the exhaust? I had to pay a £1000 to have the wet belt change and Vauxhall weren't interested. Let me know how you got on.

  4. Thats strange, i went vauxhall they said its the MAP sensor on inlet manifold.... ive check the 4 pin wiring all the way to the ECU its all good, just waiting for new MAP sensor come to see if it is that
  5. Hi have you still got them?
  6. I would advise you pop into your local dealership parts department and get them to print out the diagram listing the individual parts for that component. Then you can order the relevant parts and also see how it all comes apart if the diagram is detailed enough. I also tend to ask parts departments if a particular parts sells a lot of - that way you can determine whether it is a known issue or not
  7. How did you get on with it - any conclusion as to the cause ? Possibility it could be a mechanical issue but without testing that is hard to determine
  8. that sounds more like gummed up vanes within the turbo - you could try a cleaner to see if that makes a difference - cheapest way to start and then give it an Italian Tune-up to clear the excess carbon from the engine. But if there is excess carbon on the turbo variable vanes and the plugs are contaminated with oil I would believe it may be a little more serious. A cylinder leak test would reveal if there is any wear or damage to a particular cylinder or valves - an easy test but may struggle to find a garage that has one or knows how to use it effectively to diagnose the issue
  9. I would normally search through eBay first and see if other models such as Carlton may have same part numbers

  17. Hi, Sorry, not sure of exact wiring, had to get a auto electrician to sort it. It was identified at the rear wheel drivers side. I had this for months, so a relief this sorted it out.
  18. Well I removed the throttle body and gave it a good dowsing of carb cleaner. It was very Carboned up below the butterfly. I'm going to give the EGR a clean out too. And hopefully it will be a good cure.

  21. one or the other may be options for different applications - if you can't find somewhere for them both to go then replace the one with the most suitable gasket
  22. if it is still under warranty then I would pop in to see your local dealer and see what they can do about resolving the issue
  23. air conditioning generally dumps quite a bit of water under the car near to the rear of the engine. if you smell it and there is no odour, then it is the air con doing its thing - if it smells of coolant (strong chemical smell) then it may be a coolant leak which is more unlikely - if it smells of dog wee then it probably is (don't ask how i know this)
  24. found this on a forum which may be a way forward
  25. Have the same issue with a Nissan Juke and was thinking of using a silicon to pack out the wear in the plastic bush - nothing to lose if it stiffens it up - got to be replaced anyway I guess
  26. it would be worth taking to a tow bar specialist as the electrics will be tapped into the CanBus electronics and will more than likely need the car programming to accept the modifications

  29. Hi all, I'm new here. Have a 72 plate vauxhall Corsa design 5 door 1.2. I've had just over a month and the dealership I got it from said there was a rattle behind dash but despite removing some of it they were unable to see anything and advise to get book it in with a vauxhall garage. Does anyone know whats causing this? If it is under warranty and if not a rough price range to get it fixed. The garage said if it under warranty I'd need to pay £156 for the diagnostic. Also I get a humming type of sound when I've started the car from cold. They advised they couldn't hear anything I hear it every time. Grant
