  2. Hi Rob I Belive Auto Doc may do some online tutorials on servicing your model and year of car and also of course there will be some info on You Tube, everything seems to be on You Tube nowadays, it's like the Encyclopedia Brittanica of the modern day! All the best with it mate Steve

  4. Hi All, Just purchased a 66 plate 1.4 Corsa for my daughter. Lovely vehicle however, noticed that the radio stays on when you turn off ignition (and even when you exit and lock the car). Have disconnected the battery for 30 mins to see if that sorts it but it hasn't. Have also looked in all the settings on the system to see if there is anything triggering it and it seems not. Anyone else experienced or have any ideas what it may be? TIA - Tracy
  5. No I'm definitely not resting my foot on the pedal. It happens only in wet conditions at 55mph. It then beeps every 10 seconds and even stopping and switching the car off does not resolve it. They have replaced the sensor twice and the clutch too and still the issue persists.
  6. Welcome to the club Jane . Your car sounds far too lovely to chuck away just because a mechanic can't be bothered to resolve your issue . Perhaps a car electrician might be a good port of call? All the same all the best with it and when you get a mo post a photo of your car. Steve
  7. It is in the ECU and it was damaged, vauxhall not a clue
  8. I would use a smoke generator to instantly find the source of the leak eBay link here Smoke Generator Ideal for finding exactly where water is entering
  9. If you would like to put this out to the club as you both live in the same region (Suffolk/Norfolk) and if enough members are interested then we can promote it and then get a club stand if you want?
  10. Yes it is very cool and not what I was expecting - love it ! Is the engine still completely standard?

  12. Hiya I had this exact issue with a car I used to own and it needed new wishbones , I'd suggest go to a garage you trust and have then price a repair for you. Steve
  13. @AndyR hows the old Astra's paintwork ? You're definitely close enough to drop by SteveH for a paint repair.
  14. It should be tags (metal clips on the lighter assembly) that would need pushing in to release the lighter - most cigar lighters are the same dimensions so you can pick up a charging port from Halfords for less than a tenner

  16. Hiya Thanks I will give the ambient sensor a try . Cheers Steve
  17. If you hang the other key from the spare and they are together near enough to the ignition switch then it may read the chip from the other one
  18. A breakers yard (not that there are too many around nowadays)...alternatively you could play the cross-referencing game which may lead you to the same motor that may have been fitted to other makes and models. Don't forget European market as they would have badged the Carlton as an Opel Omega back in the day so chances are there should be a good amount kicking around in EU eBay
  19. Hmm, not sure to be honest but if it works, my belief is leave it be - software updates usually mean you would have to update the firmware which will render the audio equipment as too old and cause problems. Aftermarket infotainment is a much better option and you can include updatable SatNav and lots of other features which your standard system won't have.
  20. It's now becoming rare to see cars with Halogen bulbs as most seem to be HID or LED lamps which are now becoming way too powerful for normal road use. Different if we lived in Sweden or somewhere where it is constantly dark, but on average well-lit UK roads, its a bit overkill. I think back to when they all had yellow bulbs in France, goodness knows what you could see with them but their cars were a lot slower then 😁
  21. Hi chaps My younger brother , a tinkerer of many years scared me off buying a wet belt due to issues with poor oil maintenece and belt degradation. Steve
  22. Hi @Snoopy and welcome to the Club We have moved your post to the For Sale section of the forums as more members will be able to view it there. Feel free to duplicate the post in the appropriate Astra section
  23. ah glad the cheaper option paid off and a lot safer in this sort of weather
  24. Hi @MK7TURBO welcome to the Club As Andy has already said - what a great number plate Good to have you onboard
  25. You can use aftermarket kits and even companies that can fit it all for you. Also, think there are bluetooth versions that don't require the wiring - quite possibly a camera would be better than the sensors and again, these are available in bluetooth as well
  26. I would suggest popping over to Halfords and see what they do in the way of DAB add ons (aerial, interface, etc) - otherwise I would swap out the head unit for an aftermarket all singing and dancing one

  28. It should have beam levelling in some way shape or form but I would Imagine the codes are because some of the options such as HID headlamps aren't fitted so it flags the codes. It may be also that someone has swapped them over to Halogen as replacement HID lights weren't available or too expensive
  29. Tanks admin i will contact them
