Hi everyone, I’ve just joined this group and was hoping someone might be able to offer some advice or share any similar experiences.

I’ve got a 2019 Vauxhall Crossland X 1.2 petrol (non-turbo) on PCP, which I’ve had for about 16 months. The car has done 30,779 miles.

About a month ago, I noticed the car was losing power when trying to accelerate — it felt sluggish and wasn’t responding properly. I took it in for checks, and it turned out there was a misfire on cylinder 2. Upon further inspection, the mechanic found that the tip of the spark plug — the ceramic part — had broken off and fallen into the cylinder.

A compression test showed only 67 PSI on cylinder 2, indicating internal engine damage. I’m now facing a potentially huge repair bill, despite the car being relatively new and still under finance.

Has anyone else had a similar issue with their Crossland X, particularly with spark plugs or engine misfires?

Also, does anyone know if there’s a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB) or known issue relating to this?

Any advice or shared experience would be really appreciated. I’m currently trying to gather evidence and figure out the best way to approach this with Vauxhall and the finance company.

Thanks in advance!
