Check right marker lamp message

When starting, I sometimes get a "check right marker lamp" but all lights are working.

I'm assuming by marker lamps, the reference is to the side lights?

And the front marker lamps would be the lower output (5w) DRLs?

Also, when do the brighter 21w elements come on, is it when going through a tunnel etc?
