Electric park brake

Hey new member here. Just got a 2011 insignia sri nav. The park brake releases when pulling away but have to apply it with the button when parking, is there a way to make it apply automatically? My last car was a picasso and that released when pulling off and applied when I switched the engine off which was brilliant and would love the insignia to do the same.

Hi, if this is same operation as meriva, apply by hand, release either by hand, or will release when pulling away.

It releases when pulling away which is fine just wish it would apply when switching the engine off. My old picasso did and its a shame the insignia doesn't do the same

Its called assisted hill start but then you become lazy and use it all the time

 

I wonder how assisted applied handbrake would work on a stop start car!
