Hi just been told that the timing chain has shattered can not believe this

Hi all I have an insignia 2016 model I was driving my car and it lost compression on the accelerator it’s in the garage and they can’t find anything wrong with it. Has anyone come across this before it has Adblu in and fuel , belts have not snapped. Any advice would be great
