  2. Hi, just joined group and have just purchased a 22reg Crossland Ultimate, asking why is there a gap between the rear seats and the shelf, as far as I can see there is only one fitting for the shelf, just asking what others have done. Thnx
  3. I have a 2013 Vauxhall insignia diesel estate I have been told I have a parasitic drain on the Electric PAS Pump and motor . It’s confusing as my power steering is fine. Also I was shocked at the cost of the part my main dealer quoted any help or advice it took a while to track the drain down already had a battery and alternator fitted . So I I hopeful this is it …. But the main dealer quoted £2300 for this repair!

  5. Thank you for the reply. Is it possible to replace the bearings or is it best getting a new/reconditioned turbo?
  6. The vacuum kit looks like it should do the job nicely and at least you'll know there is no air left in the system. Check also the thermostat is not stuck closed but you should find that out if you can measure the temperatures before and after the stat with an infrared temp gun (very useful tool for many other jobs on a car - misfire, sticking brakes, etc) Let us know how you get on with it
  7. Sounds like something is obstructing the boot from fully closing and is locked in this position. Is there anyway of accessing the boot from inside the vehicle or even a pullcord somewhere on the rear bulkhead/seat area?
  8. It does sound like turbo bearings have gone and the last thing you want is for the engine to be inducing oil through the turbo - can lead to a runaway engine! If they can guarantee their diagnosis of the turbo being defective then unfortunately it's a case of biting the bullet and getting it done
  9. Hi everyone. I hope someone can help/advise. Please excuse my “non-mechanic/technical” explanation but I’ve got better knowledge of quantum physics than I have of engines. I bought an Insignia 2.0 CDTi SRi 2011 through AutoTrader (private seller - yeah, I know, lesson learnt!!!) and within a day had it in the garage. I found that when going over 40 it massively lacked power. It would get to 60/70mph but took a while. I was told that when I took it in to them, an air inlet hose had been removed from the turbo (their guess was by the previous owner) which was creating the problem. But when they reattached the hose oil would pass straight through the turbo and out of the exhaust - due to worn bearings????. I don’t recall seeing smoke come from the exhaust. They had to refill the oil after taking it for a 2 mile test drive. They quoted me £1000+ to replace the turbo. When driving I can’t hear any unusual noises etc. What’s your thoughts? Does the problem seem to be what they described or could it be something a lot simpler/worse? I’ll try to answer any questions but I apologise in advance if I don’t understand the question or for my non-technical answers. Thank you.

  11. An update on this fault. It turns out that both O2 sensors needed replacing. Car had a full system check, and only fault that could be found was Lambda sensors (o2). So 2 new ones purchased and now been fitted.
  12. Engine light came on went into limp mode came up with p0299 checked map sensor was fifthly clean it didn't make no difference brought new map sensor worked for 10 mins went back into limp mode with same fault checked air filter incase was dirty no issues there so was thinking might be gas waste exhaust valve.. anyone got any other idea's on issue .. thanks
  13. As in description, wanted a c20xe or c20ley oil cooler bracket. Number 2 in the diagram
  14. Hi do you still have this car? I’m a Vauxhall nut and looking for my next project as currently I’m just finishing my mk3 Astra gsi that I have restored to as new condition. I could send some pictures over if you want
  15. Had the water pump off to be sure theres nothing wrong there, all is good, whilst at it ive found a bleed screw on the radiator, so at least i know my radiator is full, however i have still not been able to bleed the system fully, So the next thing is to buy a Vacuum refill kit so i can make sure there no air in the system as i fill it up.... really cant believe all the trouble im having!!!
  16. ok so done more fumbling around and come to the conclusion that my head is completely drained, did so by partially removing the thermostat housing from the 4 long bolts to the head and not a drop, so this leads me to thinking its the water pump what has gone, so underneath is a pic of the pipe that leads from the pump to the thermostat housing, should coolant flow in the direction as arrowed?
  17. yes ive got a feeling your right, only thing is, i cannot get it to bleed off via the reservoir with the cap on or off, any ideas if theres a bleed screw on the insignia? tried googling but to no avail...
  18. Hi all. Just a quick question for anyone out there who might know how to code your indicators to stay on front and sides if possible. I know not everyone will like this option but I think it looks cool. If anyone knows how to do this can share I would appreciate it. Thanks
  19. Hi I'm new to the club I was just wondering if anyone has any ideas I'm having problems setting up my new phone s24 plus on my navi 950/650 radio unit but it worked fine on my s10

  21. I have a Twin Top 2008 Manual and the boot will not open. The roof is closed. Pushing the boot switch, nothing happens. The boot is partially open a few inches, but, will not fully open nor fully close!
  22. I have a similar problem with my 2019 Crossland X. It has done 35000 miles and a possible new engine has been suggested. This can`t be right
  23. Sounds like you have an air lock in the cooling system. You'll need to work out where the air is (cool to touch when engine is at running temperature) and bleed it out
  24. Hi...welcome to the Club Well it sounds like you have got there in the end! Good to have you onboard!
  25. Hello, I have a problem with Opel Zafira C 2014 year. I changed the BCM module, because the car was flooded. The new one is learned to the car, but don't control the headlights correctly, the car is equipped with Xenon lights The BCM output not control the relay for the low beam. I cannot find any tool to configure the new BCM. I bought one more BCM from a car with Xenon ligtsm but the module acts as mine. How can I do configuration of the BCM ? Which tool can change the configuration of the BCM module ? I tried with OP Com, Autel and Launch, but there is no this option.
  26. Hi there David. Your fuel consumption doesn't sound too far off. All depends on how you drive too. I have a 1.6 Astra G Auto, and i can get between 40-50mpg. Which like you say, for a vehicle 20+ years old, is good. Mine now has over 230,000 miles on her. Happy motoring.
