  2. Couldn't find anything definitve but there may be some useful information in this link I found on another forum https://www.astrakforums.co.uk/threads/anyone-else-still-having-problems-with-the-forward-facing-camera.5486/
  3. A quality rated (UK specification) as if it breaks or anything else untowards then it would invalidate your insurance if damage is caused by the trailer, caravan, etc becoming detatched from the vehicle
  4. I would consider that as an option but also check the exhaust for leaks, blowing or hissing as this can affect the fuel/air ration
  5. A replacement mirror glass can be purchased to fit directly onto the existing one or for more money you can get a complete replacement glass Never use Superglue as when it hardens it will contract and break the glass
  6. I'm not sure but I mostly use Eurocarparts https://www.eurocarparts.com/ to identify whether they list a timing belt or chain for that particular engine. In this case there is no listing at all for either belt or chain - I would contact your local dealer and give them the registration or VIN to establish which one it is
  7. That's a bit of a strange one as that was what you used to have to do (sometimes) on an old car - leave the ignition on to charge the coil and then turn the engine over to start. Obviously diesel engines are the same with Glow Plugs. Please let us know how it goes and what is the outcome
  8. In respect of the service on an electric car compared to a traditional petrol/diesel engined car then it is vastly reduced in maintenance tasks and the above response from Vauxhall really does highlight how little work is required in a service.
  9. It is good that you are considering running on premium fuel as it does have a better calorific value that the E10 fuel which containing 10% Ethanol offers less performance per mile than a better quality higher octane rated fuel. Since running my older car (but not bikes) on E5 it makes a huge difference on performance and MPG. Not entirely sure what difference you will notice on a newer model like the Grandland but only one way to find out. When it comes to Shell and Esso I imagine they would be of similar quality but again its worth trialling each one to see the outcome
  10. Thanks for letting us know Lee....sometimes it is a leap into the unknown but pays off in the long run. Glad to hear you had the weltbelt replaced and seems very cheap for the job compared to a Ford
  11. It could well be turbo vanes gummed up and sticking which would restrict performance but I would strongly suggest a scan of the codes would reveal the true extent of the cause
  12. Hi Kevin....welcome to the Club You don't often see old Zafira's in that good condition! Good to have you onboard!

  14. Hi all Name is Kevin owned my Zafira since 2002 purchased as a 6 months old ex demo car from Hartwells
  15. Hello, I have loads of mk 3 Astra parts for sale. Is anyone interested?

  17. I bought the crossland x and had the wet belt replaced at a cost of £400 as a precaution. I've had it for just under three months now and I love it. It's a really nice smooth drive. So glad I took the plunge .
  18. Hello , I have a 2005 on a 55reg astra 1.6 petrol twinport with a P0171 error. From time to time it hesitates when driving and judders a bit, is this because of this error I understand it is running to lean not enough petrol. Should I change the rocker cover as there is a diaphragm built into the undeside of the cover, the diaphragm could be split? Is changing the rocker cover a common fix for this problem. Thanks for any advice.
  19. Arden blue 2006 Zafira gsi with just over 100,000 miles. The car hasn't been driven since passing it's MOT in February. It now has a battery light which hasn't gone after installing a new battery. The headliner material is off. I've not got round to replacing it. But car can come with material and glue. Still runs and drives well. Well maintained with lots of paperwork. Has lowering springs but still a comfortable ride with no scraping. Unmodified otherwise. Feel free to call on 07572332397 if you want to see it.
  20. I’m brand-new to the forum. I’m looking to buy an Astra GTC. A dealer is selling an 1.6T SRi 2013 and describes the only issue with the car being that the EML comes on after driving for a while. How big a risk is buying a car like that? Of course, I cannot get the DTC read out to know what it may be. I was thinking, wrong stop/start battery fitted, spark plugs, coil pack, MAF sensor, a split hose somewhere, so could be something I can fix cheaply myself? If so, it would be a fair price for an otherwise great looking and spec car. But anyone have experience that can give me a better feel for whether this (EML on after driving a while, then resets when restarted) could be a pricey and disastrous issue, full engine fail etc?
  21. Can confirm the eBay ones work - did this myself recently. It was originally sticking a bit, but after a few minutes of pressing in and out it came free and now is flawless
  22. Hello, Does the above car have a wet timing belt or a chain as I am looking to buy this car, but will not if its got a wet belt ! Its done 48,000 miles Thanks
  23. I started my three-year personal lease in February 2025 for an electric Corsa. I was not sure of the service schedule (minor, major etc) so I contacted Vauxhall but I did not understand their response: I feel the response is worded like it was designed for the technicians working on the car or something. I was hoping for something similar to: year 1 you need a minor service, year 2 you need a major service, year 3 you need a minor service. That kind of thing. Is anyone able to please assist?
  24. absolute joke of a company Vauxhall , i have never dealt with a dealership so unprofessional , every time they sell a crossland or grandland they are committing daylight robbery , i tried to fight them but soon found out the consumer in this country has little to no rights
  25. I thought I should advise you that my 21 reg Crossland has had signs of cracking on the wet belt. I informed the Vauxhall garage, who told me this was a known problem. They inspected the belt and said that it was beginning to show signs of cracking and I should have it checked again after 3 months. The car has 35000 on the clock and has been serviced every year by Vauxhall. I bought it 2nd hand so expected an issue but my car is currently in the garage having the belt replaced, free of charge, under some warrantee. I am sorry for those who have had problems with their dealers which I can only think is an issue with some garages.
  26. Down my narrow road, people speed by and often clip my mirrors when I've forgot to fold them in. So I now have on driver (offside) mirror the surrounding plastic has a big chip out of it. Does anyone know a way to repair this without buying a new assembly?. On the passenger (nearside) just the back cover has smashed off so need a new, colour coded one of those. I don't want to get a plain one and prime/paint it. Any good ideas?
