madmolly Posted February 11 Posted February 11 Hi everyone Just discovered a fuel leak on the banjo fuel feed pipe going to the pump. Is there a special way of accessing it as right by the dipstick and there is also a plastic hose in the way and trying to get a 19mm spanner on is a nightmare!!
madmolly Posted February 11 Author Posted February 11 I was hoping there might be a magic spanner or trick to access this better lol but I think I am going to try and wedge something between the plastic pipe and the engine to try and get more space unless anyone else has got a better idea? Any advice would be most welcome
madmolly Posted February 13 Author Posted February 13 Ah well no takers!! so after removing the undertray I found that the big plastic hose has a mounting bracket bolted to the engine and I also disconnected the dipstick bracket to gain better access. I still used a bar to lever a little more room and managed to get the bolt out of the rose jointed fuel feed pipe. Turns out the bolt is actually a Non Return Valve. Explains how the pump maintains feed from the fuel tank. Replaced the copper seals and used a magnet to help align and screw the valve back into place. Not an easy job so I hope this helps someone else out.
