Petrol Sender

I have just bought a 1966 viva HA90 Deluxe. The fuel guage is a bit iffy, 1 minute it's showing full the next min 3/4 empty. Do I need a new Sender ? Thanks in advance. Colin. My email address for replies is colmurdoch@aol.com
